I think the real target for the serious groups of people who wish to influence things from this site, no matter which side they're on, are really constructing their posts to influence the lurkers. The audience we are all dancing for. Everyone here is just a player on the stage. How sites like this effect the real world after going through all the silent observers filters would be the really interesting data.
IMHO anyways.
