Dr. Zoltan P. Rona, Prevent Disease
Waking Times
It is estimated that over 200 million people globally (about 35 million people in North America) suffer from at least one of the many forms of thyroid disease. In fact, thyroid problems are increasing so much in frequency that scientists are calling it an epidemic. The incidence of thyroid illness occurs about seven times more frequently in women than men, and it is thought that at least 50% of the cases are undiagnosed or misdiagnosed.
It was recently reported that the radioactive fallout in Japan during 2011 has now caused thyroid disease in the farthest corners of the world. Children born in Alaska, California, Hawaii, Oregon, and Washing-ton within one to sixteen weeks after the nuclear accident in Japan were 28% more likely to suffer from congenital hypothyroidism than in the preceding year.
There is also a dramatic increase in the rates of thyroid cancer, which is the fastest growing cancer in North America today. In 2010, the American Cancer Society reported 45,000 new cases. They now predict that in 2013 there will be about 60,220 new cases of thyroid cancer, and this number is expected to grow rapidly in the next decade.
According to Dr. Bruce Davidson, MD, chair of the Department of Head and Neck Surgery at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.: “We’ve seen thyroid cancer double in the last 10 years, but the general sense in the past was that there was a big pool of undiscovered thyroid cancer, and more intense diagnostics, including greater use of ultrasounds and biopsies, were resulting in better detection. Now, we know that better detection is not the only factor, and we need to investigate other factors that may be causing the increased rate of thyroid cancer.”
Chief among these other factors is the increased exposure we all have to different forms of radiation (nuclear accidents, greater use of CAT scans and other high radiation diagnostic tests, jet travel, etc.). Some experts like Davidson believe that the increased use of CAT scans in the past 20 years directly parallels the increasing incidence of thyroid cancers during the same period of time.

and so it begins....

It's not just radiation. It's FLUORIDE!

Fluoride is highly toxic to the thryoid. Fluoride is everywhere:

* antibiotics (ciprofloxacin "cipro" & levaquin the best known & most litigated)

* anthesthia (isoflurane is the most commonly used anesthesia gas)

* water, toothpaste, juices and teas

My DOG is now on thyroxine to treat hypothyroid which is supposedly quite rare in chihuahuas. Hypothyroid is also on the upswing in dogs. In recent years dogs are getting more surgeries AND they are receiving anesthesia to have their teeth cleaned (vets push for this). Of course dogs drink a lot of water too.

BEWARE.

My German Shepherd died, also my sisters Corgie. Its probably from Chem Trails, Fluoride as the big 2.

Re: The Growing Epidemic of Thyroid Disease and What To Do About It: here it comes, the inevitable.
Let's not forget the ongoing fluoridation of drinking water in the United States when it comes to the growing incidence of thyroid disease.

What's the most important element in thyroid metabolism and health? Iodine, a member of the halide family. What's fluorine's family? Halide. What is fluorine's claim to fame among elements? Its intense electronegativity, enough to forcibly displace chlorine, bromine and, yes, iodine in chemical reactions.

Chalk up yet another victory for the fluoridators. Not only have they crippled our country's collective will, they're also physically making us too sick and ill to fight back. And it's absolutely working. When I was in medical school nearly twenty years ago, the incidence of thyroid disease (hypothyroid, hyperthyroid, thyroid cancer, multinodular goiters, thyroiditis) was between 1 in 35 to 1 in 50, depending on which study you read. While I was in residency, that incidence increased to roughly 1 in 25. Ten years ago it was revised to 1 in 15. Now the incidence is roughly 1 in 7, for the same family of illnesses! Even starting with the more inclusive number of 1 in 35, this represents a 400% increase in thyroid disease in less than twenty years! I used to diagnose about two patients a week with thyroid problems. Now it's about two or three a day. Yeah, something's definitely up.

My daughter had elevated results in a blood test for thyroid function a couple of years ago. Big worry for me as I have suffered with type 1 juvenile diabetes for the past 25 years. Diabetes and thyroid problems can both be associated with auto-immune disease.

Although they say type 1 diabetes is not hereditary (different for type 2), auto immune disease is. The last thing I want is to have to watch her go through her life on meds like I have. Luckily so far it was just one weird reading.

It is scary to think that pollution of our food, water or air could be also be contributing factors.

A couple of drops of Lugols iodine in my coffee, a couple days a week. Hopefully it's helping. I have a couple of family members on thyroid meds, and I'd rather not go that route.

I have been pretty healthy my whole life.

I'm 36 now, but a few years ago I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism and a few months later I was diagnosed with Systemic Lupus.

I now take 100mcg synthroid for my thyriod and plaquenil for the lupus.

What the hell happened to me?

Always healthy, then not.

if using seaweed for iodine supplimentation find its source and keep the fuk away from west pacific at least.
there's shit loads radiation being released into the sea from fuku and japan is one of the main cultivators of seaweed. i've personally stopped using seaweed now, i suppliment my plants with iodine and sodium rich fertiliser (make your own) and get plant based iodine and sodium that way (its then in a bio-available form for the body to absorb easily).
also i sprinkle zeolite on/in all my food, that way if one ingests any particulated radiation (the shit nobodies really talking about thats the killer -not detectable by geiger counters =dust sized radioactive particles) one stands a chance of it being carried out of the body without it getting uptaken.
as for inhaling this shit ...not got answer ...other than holding ones breath)
yeh take precautions now, as the effects are later -frog boiling slowly scenario

I was diagnosed with Graves at 20 am a male and I highly suggest never taking the radio-iodine therapy. It has taken me 8 years to figure out what the hell it actually did to me.
The deadly brain fog and what it does to the metabolism pretty much has left me living a half a life. Being on the right dosages and still having depression, apaxis attacks, temperature problems, and the anhedonistic depression are not things that are easy to deal with.

How it mimics schizophrenia due to the neuro chemistry imbalances was never brought up by any of the endocrinologist I ever went to.

This AMC2C episode has all the good information I have pieced together over the years. [link to www.youtube.com]

I have pretty much accepted that there is no going back through the looking glass now, due to how most interactions we as humans have is mostly based on emotional responses. So when your base neurochemisty is sucking your mental energy it makes interactions complicated and has turned me into a bit of a loner.

I grew up without fluoridated water but was raised in Eastern Idaho and it's plethora of nuclear reactors. So at least I know why.
Fuck fluoride though... [link to women.webmd.com]
We are the Children of the Atom........ Fuck.

I currently am using asian NDT and MSM and have had more energy then I have had my adult life. The whole situation irks me as much as my mind will let it.

Synthroid and levothyroxine are the second most scripted pills in the country if that tells you anything, and according to my phram buddy it usually causes a rise in anxiety by 40%.

It's not just the thyroid but adrenals too. The adrenals are next to our kidneys and they have also become over stimulated and don't work. You can bet if you have thyroid problems then you have adrenal problems.

Personally I decided to supplement with raw adrenal and thyroid in dessicated form. I have many of the symptoms of hypothyroidism and there are about 300 or so.
so my logic is what is worse, having overstimulated adrenals which aren't working and a under active thyroid which is slowly killing me or the fear that the medical community puts out about how dessicated thyroid and adrenals from bovine that is bio identical to the human body is dangerous. So I supplement.

THIS is a BIG deal.
I have been videoing truth, posting, talking, learning, for years.
THIS is the big factor I see, we have no energy, gain weight on 1200 cals a day, slow mentally, pain and suffering, and all because of low hormonal function.
It has to be the food, water, air. No other explanation why everyone is gaining weight, losing function.
If I but thyroid from Aussies, the Gov will take it, what choice do they leave? I can't find thyroid in the meat market.
Yet we suffer daily from lack of hormones.
We are being destroyed, IMO.

Check into Pregnenolone. The mother hormone.

Ok maybe I can help. Allergic to synthetic forms of thyroid. Went of natural thyroid called thyroid or you call it bovine type. It took a long time to get the levels right but I am finally relieved of everything. The synthetic drugs almost killed me at year four and all of my organs were shutting down because of it.

When I refused to take it anymore, we discovered it was the drug. I pleaded for the bovine and I finally have my life back.

We are all different. If you are that bad try the bovine.
I am living proof that it is not bad and changed my life.

Give it six months and see. It takes longer to adjust the blood levels but once they adjust they maintain.

Concerning goiter it is contaminations in foods and water and from other sources contaminating the air (Brom) and the use of fluorized tooth paste. Then also deficiencey in B12 and Iodine in foods.

If you have goiter, you must take a lot of iodoral daily, beginning at 12grams and may be increase slowly to 40 grams. But it is necessary with B12 also, 2000mcg (micrograms) a day orally under the tongue, because much of the reason that the thyroid cannot produce the necessary hormones is also deficiency in B12. The deficiency in B12 can be brought about by poor uptake and absorption mechanism in the gut either as a caused by aging or as a result of too much bad bacteria in the gut. After 50 years of age the ability to absorb the B12 becomes poorer gradually. The gut flora can be improved by eating fermented vegetables or other fermented foods (Natto for example) and/or taking probiotics. But to get the B12 fast into the blood stream it is effective to let it absorb through skin under the tongue by letting a teaspoon full of water dissolved or fluid B12 under the tongue for a minute.

Of course it is necessary to cleanse the thyroid and other glands for that sake, for halides, because Chlorine and Bromine and Fluorine blocks for the uptake of Iodine. Google "salt protocol" for that purpose. Fluoride makes the mineral apatite in combination with calsium so that the glands become more and more dysfunctional . Another cure that is effective for the cleansing and dissolving of apatite and fluoride/fluorine is MSM (methyl-sulfo-methane). Beside this has a lot of other benefits for preventing many illnesses.

I don't know how it works for other thyroid problems.
