The other 25% consists entirely of search queries answered by the phrase "google it." That 25% is steadily increasing. One day, somebody will search google for porn, and will only be able to find the phrase "google it." When this happens, a singularity will open and swallow the universe. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 44079849 I think more people use social networking than porn these days. H W S A X R E P O D L A |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 302572 United States 08/15/2013 08:14 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Is the internet a scheme to get everyone to stay inside, sorta like the TV conspiracy? Quoting: darkade How many hours a day do you spend on the internet, accounting for your phone and other net based objects? What do you do on the internet most of the time, do you information dive or code applications, do you talk to distant friends or even meet distant friends? How many days of your life do you think you've spent all together on the internet? Would there have been another revolution had everybody not been too busy discussing it or entertaining themselves via the internet? How much information or knowledge do you soak up each day as you prowl and dig deeper into the wealth of the internet? Do you think the internet could be as endless as space? How many hidden facts or gems are on the internet? How long do you think you will stay connected to the internet? What would you be doing without the internet? Would you be better off or would you be the opposite? When did you start using the internet and why? Is it more for entertainment for you or do you use it to gain knowledge? What is your favorite thing about the internet? Do you feel viral videos are a good thing or a bad thing? Have you stayed up late at night even when you have kids/wife/family/friends waiting on you? How has the internet been on relationships around you? Can you recall what is facts and what is fiction on everything you read throughout the internet? Can you spot fabrications or frauds from reading certain news articles or stories? How many of you think you could write a book or a thesis based on your knowledge you've learned from the internet? How many of you believe you'll write a book by the time it's your time to leave this planet? I'm just curious on others experiences and thoughts on the subject, sorry if it's a lot to answer or read, but feel free to just answer certain questions or parts. You are a data miner |

When a well-packaged web of lies has been sold gradually to the masses over generations, the truth will seem utterly preposterous and its speaker, a raving lunatic." -Dresden James "All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed, second it is violently opposed, and third, it is accepted as self-evident." -Arthur Schopenhauer |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 42078439 United States 08/16/2013 10:17 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | well if we think about the big companies that first came out with computers (IBM&Apple) they were pretty much made by the super genius nerds of society. they sold the world on their devices and now its socially accepted world wide. apple computer > ipod > iphone > ipad.. they marketed it so well that you were cooler with their stuff. and a lot of these things have led people to becoming more isolated, things like facebook give you the illusion you have a lot of friends & keep up with them in their lives. the thing thats interesting to note, last night i was watching a steve jobs documentry (not the new movie) and they kept going on and on about how he wanted to change the world. itd be really hard to say that he was scheming this all along for his own insecure gain, but look at society today. everyone just looks down @ their phones or plugs in their ipod n disconnects from reality. also, this might be a bit out there but i was thinking of the ironic fact that apples symbol is an apple with a bite in it. is social technology the forbidden fruit? really interesting to think about.. but i doubt it was a guys PURE intention to get everyone to be less social and outgoing. |
