the one thing I found is clicker training worked wonders for us and from what I understand boxers pick up on it really well.

Any specific advice you're looking for?

Training classes are brilliant if you haven't already gone to them, and constant socialisation with various people (old, young, different races, people with umbrellas, hats, etc.), dogs and environments is key, too. Pitbulls have a tendency to develop dog-aggression, even if they're well-socialised. Sometimes it's beyond your control, but usually with good socialising with other dogs, it won't happen. Does she take more after a Boxer or a pitbull?

My dog is a Staffordshire Bull Terrier x Presa Canario. He has the Presa's colour and is bigger than a normal Staff, but that's basically it, he's a loveable, hyperactive wimp. He'll bark and growl when a car pulls up in our driveway that isn't ours or a relative's, but once that person is in the house, he's full of excitement (typical Staff trait). Similar with pitbulls really, if she takes more after a pitbull, you've chosen the wrong dog for a proper guard dog. Will she bark if she finds something suspicious? Yeah, all dogs have that instinct. Will she attack an intruder? HIGHLY unlikely. They're just not thar kind of breed.

Cesar is a idiot who is part dog himself-thats why his bullshit "dominence" theory worked for him but is very dangerous to people why try to imitate him-he gets his greasy ass bitten alot and sets dogs up to fail-he failed and now is trying to reinvent himself as as a "positive" method dog trainer. Stay away from his crap and his cult. Check out www.dogstardaily.com for scientific, proven methods of humane dog training and problem solving.Dr Ian Dunbar has been advising dog owners on humane and effective training methods for over 40 years.
We have a positive based training school and get amazing results without bullying or dominating dogs.

Thank you! I always cringe for the poor dogs when I hear people suggest ceasar milan and all that alpha dominance crap. Poor shut down dogs. Its a tv show,he's an actor, and yes, a bully. And good reason the "dont try this at home" warnings.

I was going to suggest dog Star Daily too!

No Cesar Milan stuff. The person who came up with the pack leader theory himself has since admitted he was wrong and has tried to get people to stop his research being available, but it's still available. Don't bother. Cesar Milan loves dogs and does have a way with them, no doubt, but it isn't right. I've seen him choke dogs to get them to behave, not worth risking damage to the bond between human and dog. Be the boss, be strict, but don't be mean either.

You don't even need to do the stupid 'touch' or tap or whatever to dogs either. Dogs do similar things to each other, yes, but dogs know that we're not dogs. That's why they'll let their owners hug them even though, in the dog world, a hug-like gesture is a sign of dominance. Dogs know the difference, so physical force will NEVER be necessary. Enforce boundaries often, make sure there are rules, and don't let them get away with EVERYTHING, but definitely don't go down the Cesar Milan route. Surprisingly, most dogs, particularly the big ones for some reason, respond better to gentler methods. Some dogs will be OK with harsher methods, but a lot, if not most breeds, are pretty sensitive. That's why if you get a rescue dog, you'll notice a lot of them are hand shy; they move/lower their head if you put a hand over them. Because they think you'll hit them. Most of these dogs weren't hit so hard it hurt them enough to traumatise them, it's because of the emotional pain, not the physical.

YOU are the boss. NEVER allow the dog to be the boss. That doesn't mean you have to be mean or violent or cruel, quite the contrary. We spoil our two dogs rotten, give them everything they could want - freedom, treats, fun, car rides, never deny them anything within reason. Nonetheless, when I call or command them, they do it without question, because I am the boss. As long as you treat your dog well and maintain alpha status, you'll have a wonderful, happy pet!

Make your own. That way Monsanto can't poison your puppy with all the shit in their foods.....they make most of the dog foods.
