YOU are the boss. NEVER allow the dog to be the boss. That doesn't mean you have to be mean or violent or cruel, quite the contrary. We spoil our two dogs rotten, give them everything they could want - freedom, treats, fun, car rides, never deny them anything within reason. Nonetheless, when I call or command them, they do it without question, because I am the boss. As long as you treat your dog well and maintain alpha status, you'll have a wonderful, happy pet!
