That's one that I'm guilty of at times. Not so much here, since the thread entries are so short, but in novels... Yes.

The thing is, I do know the difference. It's simply that over a hundred thousand words or more, errors creep in.

In that way writing is a very humbling task. Most "Grammar Nazi's" would stop instantly, if they had to write and edit a few books. Especially if others did it for them. The mistakes are there and seldom mean that people don't know the difference.

Typos are just that ...typos. People type fast. It happens. But that particular word used the way it is , for whatever reason , I see it EVERYWHERE.

When you and the OP do it, "it is late" or an honest mistake. When other people use a word in the wrong context (or flat out misspell it) they are stupid and less intelligent than the last generation.
