So does all soda pop. And toothpaste. And the largest organ of your body is your skin and you bathe in it absorb it. Certainly, you will be tickled to know that canned goods have it and baked goods and even your chocolate chip cookies are loaded with it. |

[link to www.fluoridealert.org] The real issue here is FREEDOM to control what is in your water. Who voted it OK for these pricks to introduce ANYTHING into water other than chlorine that is necessary to kill the bacteria. If you are concerned about your babies teeth, go to walmart and buy some fluoride, dummy. Do not insist that I as an elderly person consume it too. Hell, most old folks lost their teeth already and fluoride really fucks up their old bones and make them brittle. Does this make sense? |
Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 42082642 United States 07/21/2013 02:25 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Get over it. I'm not going to get upset about flouride in the water when military bases like Camp LeJeune North Carolina had levels of PCE and TCE up to 500 times the EPA maximum for decades. Real people are dying every day from this. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 43651750 I doubt if you get upset over anything, Sergeant. |

Hydrofluosilicic acid is a by-product of this phosphate manufacturing process. It can be used for fluoridation of drinking water or may be further processed to form solid sodium fluoride or sodium fluorosilicate. All three of these chemicals can be used for treatment of drinking water. However, drinking water treatment chemicals are required by most US states and Canadian provinces to be tested and certified to NSF/ANSI Standard 60: Drinking Water Treatment Chemical – Health Effects. This standard establishes criteria for the evaluation of treatment chemicals to ensure that they, and any potential contaminants, do not cause adverse health effects when they are dosed into drinking water at the manufacturer’s stated maximum use level. More information about this standard and the testing and certification process can be found on the NSF website. [link to kidschemicalsafety.org] |

Anyone? I really want to know, because I cannot find it. I hear often how it's 'harmless'...but I want to see proof of it's benefits. After all, many municipalities probably spend thousands or millions of dollars adding this to our water. We should know a reason why, other than "the government told us it was harmless." |
