Why the digit pattern from doubling: 1-2-4-8-7-5
Do we know why this occurs?

1
1*2=2
2*2=4
4*2=8
8*2=16, 1+6=7
16*2=32, 3+2=5
32*2=64, 6+4=10
64*2=128, 1+2+8=11, 1+1=2
128*2=256, 2+5+6=13, 1+3=4
256*2=512, 5+1+2=8
512*2=1024, 1+2+4=7
1024*2=2048, 2+4+8=14, 1+4=5

As well as in reverse:
Half of one is 0.5 (0+5) equaling 5. Half of 5 is 2.5 (2+5) equaling 7, and so on.

I'm too lazy to try to figure out why the digits carrying over always results in 1-2-4-8-7-5. I doubt most people would find it very interesting. Because it's not, unless officialdom understands less than 100 percent of it.

It simply is, what it is. To put further thought into it is pointless and without end.

Why not question why we count 1 to 10.

2048 * 2 = 4096

4 + 0 + 9 + 6 = 19

1 + 9 = 10

damned

You forgot that 1+0=1, so the answer is 1.

If you do a Fibonacci sequence on the number 124875 (repeating), it becomes 3, 6, 3, 6, 3, 6.... which just happens to be the two remaining missing numbers!

Also, if you take 124875 (repeating) and add the sum together from 4 digits ahead (1+8, 2+7, 4+5, 8+1, 7+2, 5+4), the sum is always 9!
