My mother was diagnosed AML Spring of her 86th year. She opted out of Chemo. She was able, however, to receive 'transfusions' (plasma/platelets?) that kept her going relatively comfortable for 7 months from beginning of diagnosis to end. Verrrrrry peaceful ending when she stopped getting the transfusions. It was amazing. The only thing she ever took for pain was Tylenol once in the AM and once at night. Apparently the pain was in the bones. Also, she chilled easily... Bless her and the family........oh yes, and noooooooooooo chemo imo!
