Cop Harrases Man For Watching His Grandchildren Play at the Park

Well, hmmm. With level 3 sex offenders creeping everywhere, it is not a shock that an older man watching children could be seen as suspicious. Not everyone constantly carries their wallet when going to a park. He told them his name and address. The police could have simply confirmed he was grandpa by asking the kids.

First of all, idiots, it doesn't matter that the children were his grandchildren and not his children, the children were in his care at the time. THEREFORE, he was responsible for them, THEREFORE had he been doing anything other than watching them, he would not have been doing his job.

Unlike most divorced fathers, I have my kids every single weekend. It's their mom that I wanted away from, not them. I pick them up every Friday evening and drop them off every sunday evening. I sit on the bench and I watch them. It is my responsibility to know where they are and what they are doing at all times. I see them fall and get hurt if they fall and get hurt. I stop them if they try to run off. No one in their right fucking mind would try to run off with them when I am there.

Sitting on the bench and watching them is fucking boring. It's hot. Time is ticking backwards. Did I mention how god damn boring it is? Yet I do it. Because it's my job.

Let me chime in for a minute. First of all, NO ONE saw the entire encounter, period. Assumptions are being made on both sides. The cops could have handled this better, they appear younger. Lets call them a little green. I saw no verification as to the children and grandpa relationship either. Protection of our kids is FIRST priority. Grandpa should have recognized this. I blame both parties, but the cops could and should have approached situation better. Grandpa should appreciate someone is worried about the kids.

I think the guy was in the right at first, then he became arrogant and followed the cops.

He should have just left it alone, the cops were checking out a call made on him. They asked for ID..let it alone. They didnt harass him.

I NEVER stick up for the cops, they are usually jack boots, but this time, they did nothing wrong.

My elderly father, when he could still walk down the street God bless him, kept being victimized by police - who some idiotic neighbor lady kept calling to say she thought there was an old man who looked lost wandering down the street. My father had down HIS OWN street to the park many times over many years. He had to stop because of some freakin' nose-in-everyone's-business "do-gooder."
