That man should have backed off and never should have had a knife. Well deserved.

Why are people shooting to kill? That's what gets me. If she had shot him in the leg it would have been just as effective. She also could have very easily gotten back in the car and driven off.

My opinion?

Pretty simple. I can't figure out why there is any question about these scenarios.

If you attack someone with a deadly weapon, whether it's a knife or a hammer, you get shot. END OF STORY.

Don't want to get shot? Don't attack someone.

Like I said... Petty simple... eh?


P.S. - Even if the person DOESN'T have a deadly weapon... If they are ABLE, or TRYING to kill you, like Trayvon breaking your nose, holding his hand over your mouth (preventing you from breathing since you have a broken nose), pummeling you with punches, and bashing your head into the concrete, you shoot the motherfucker dead as well.

As proved out by the Zimmerman trail... better to be judged by 12 (or 6) than carried by 6.

But then a knife-wielding asshole would have been left alive, and able to do it to someone else. Or locked up in prison, costing the taxpayers big money.

Isn't the world far better off without someone who would surely pull his knife again on someone else later. This lady probably saved a life.

If you shoot to wound the person shot can sue you for damages. Some states actually have shot to kill laws that give the person shot a strong legal leg to stand on especially if you admit to shooting to wound.

A person with a knife is considered far more dangerous than a person with a gun at close range(21 feet or less). Statistically, more people with knives will use them without warning and with deadly intent and effect than someone with a gun.

Never shoot a gun at someone unless you intend to kill. You will probably miss a kill shot anyway under the influence of adrenaline. If you try for any fine tuning, you'll probably miss completely, and if your adversary has a knife and knows how to use it, then it's "THE END" for you.

The police understand this. I hope judges and juries do.

I believe in stand your ground, there are to many times you are in a situation where you can't run! The cases of women who have abusive and violence spouses is one of those times.
If you have the other law you have a hard time proving you couldn't get away!
