I'm nervous about their prediction of it being Aug-Sept ... but I think if this does happen, it won't be til after Christmas; why not wait for people to go even further in debt?

Things that are too good to be true usually are, so I think it'd be after Christmas so the catch-22 shows it's ugly head.

Why would renters be kicked out right away? If there is no money to be had, what good would it be to the landlord to have them gone? Wouldn't it be better to let them live there and maintain the property so that it doesn't fall into disrepair?

During the Depression it was a similar situation. Many (if not all) landlords allowed their tenants to remain (as long as they had had a good payment record from before)to assist in the upkeep. Once the Depression was over, a lot of the tenants squared up with the landlords. Those who didn't, moved on. But the properties were maintained so that they didn't lose any actual "value", and they were ready to rent to someone else.

At some point in the future there will be a Jubilee!

Exactly! If this happened there would have to be a way for people to get money back to live. Per the interview the govt. already has a system worked out. The new money paid out would be totally based upon your social security records. So if you've played by the rules and worked your whole life and paid into the system, your going to make out okay. This will help everybody in debt, which is 95% of the population. Those few that have no debt won't get hurt unless they rent, but they will still do ok as their social security records will allow them to get something back. This is the best thing that could happen for the major majority of the people of the USA. I say bring it on!

But at the same time, the ones to whom he MOST wants to redistribute everything are also the LEAST likely to be buying a home to have their debt forgiven.

For those that are renting, the landlords would instantly have all debt on their property eliminated-means much lower rents unless landlord's a greedy bastard.

Not a fucking chance in hell! They may hyperinflate the currency meaning less dollar value of any debt principal, but the interest rates will be skyrocketing at the same time, meaning the bank will be getting the same dollar value in the end.
