Re: RED ALERT!!! It's boiling inside Fukushima Unit No. 3
The earthquake caused the reactors to meltdown. All the cooling / circulation pipes were already broken by the ground movement. This was before the tsunami deluged the standby pumps and generators.

It is believed four of the six nuclear cores melted through the pressure containment vessel through the building concrete floors on into the earth.

They have been pumping in sea water from the very start.

Like Handford, it's just a waiting game, radiation will leach into the ground water and on into the sea.

Now it's just a case of letting it dilute into the sea, and for young people to abandon those areas that are highly contaminated.

In the mean time, the Japanese government is spreading the dry waste across the country so as to blur future cancer hot-spots.

Meanwhile... Back at the ranch...

btw:

[snip]
18 July 2013
Investigations are underway into the source of what appeared to be steam rising from the fifth floor of the damaged reactor building of unit 3 at the Fukushima Daiichi plant. Rainwater entering the reactor well is considered the likely cause.
The steam was first noticed at around 8.20am. Monitoring systems indicated no changes in the temperature and pressure within the reactor pressure vessel or the primary containment vessel (PCV) [LMAO! WHAT MONITORING EQUIPMENT???].

The nitrogen injection system into the PVC was found to be operating normally, as was the water cooling systems for both the reactor and the used fuel pool.

No increase in radiation or dust levels was detected.[NO! BECAUSE IT IS OFF THE SCALE.. How can you increase millions/ billions of Bq per hour???]

Plant owner Tokyo Electric Power Company (Tepco) said that subsequent monitoring of the reactor building had also not identified any changes in the parameters.[MAHAHAH! which is NONE!]

However, Tepco said, "We assume that the steam was generated as a result of rain leaking through gaps near the cover [of the reactor well] and being heated at the head of the primary containment vessel."

A worker at the plant spotted "steam-like gas wafting through the air" [remotely]

Now, that's worth a second reading.
Quite unnerving - the semantics and hesitations in it are so surreal that it takes the atomic cake, even from North Korea's ambiguous, nonsensical rethorics. The text construct is self-accusatory, if anyone still doubts TEPCO's lack of integrity. We can see that they not only fear to name verifiable events objectively, but they blatantly lie, too, ridiculously falling in contradiction.

"Gone with the Wind", nuclear-verse, for real.

I don't have the knowledge base to understand the intricacies but I have the common sense (also something most people don't have)to understand that Japan's disaster and more importantly its continuing radiation poisoning of the planet) along with the world government's acting as accomplices will almost certainly lead to the death of millions of us and possibly the ultimate destruction of our planet because they all chose to look the other way instead of join together to attempt to address the problem when it occurred. Now, I believe it is too late for mankind to do much of anything to alter the ramifications. Even if I'm wrong about it being too late, the gov'ts of the world still won't act because they are run by ignorant, scared, greedy or plain EVIL people.

I usually don't stick my head in the sand but on this one I have chosen to because there is nothing I can do to change the situation. Many people don't understand or maybe more do than we think but most of us know there is nothing we can do - we can't make the gov't act. The only recourse left is prayer but I'm not much of a prayer warrior. On this one I think God will be the determining One on whether our planet survives or not - it is out of the hands of man. May God have mercy on us and the planet.

IT's the worst kind of nightmare
you cannot wake up from ...
and its happening in our lifetime ...

such a beautiful world

being destroyed by the greedy .

mad world

and most CANNOT EVEN see whats going on around them or have a clue of whats happening .

My Grandmother warned me in the 70s when a nuclear plant was being built by her house ...

- she said to me , " they are building them all over the place ,

just you wait and see what happens, not in my lifetime

but you will see in your lifetime "

her words haunt me .

Here is an article from the Japan Times.
[link to www.japantimes.co.jp]
in the same article TEPCO says the amount of radioactive water dumped into the ocean would not have a impact on the ocean....ok they did say "limited"

then TEPCO says
"a fish found with radiation more than 2,500 times the legal limit had been caught in a port on Fukushima No. 1's premises."

the article also refers to a meltdown.

just wish there was some truth.

what is fact and what is fiction in this quote?

Tepco, which is surviving thanks to a massive infusion of public funds, said it would step up efforts to reduce underground water by consolidating soil near its harbor.

Radioactive substances released by the reactor core meltdowns at the aging plant following the huge quake and tsunami of March 2011 have been leaking from damaged buildings and mingling with the ground water, which usually flows out to sea.

Environmental experts warn that the festering radioactive sore could contaminate the food chain by tainting marine life and ultimately, the humans who eat it.

Obama's number 1 concern was that the stock price of TEPCO not drop because of all of the American stock holders.

Plutonium enriched fuel melting down.

But the plethora of team now is very ominous. Either they JUST NOW realized a fault in the cooling system OR the corium that melted over is reaching water.

I say this, if more then 1 reactor melted down....unit 3 would go first. Because it operates WAY hotter due to the plutonium.

Obviously, when tshtf in fukushima, it will come from reactor 3. Unfortunately, it could kill almost all of us.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 43931470

If you pump water onto a nuclear reaction, it will fire it up and increase the reaction.

Because the water, when it hits the heat, flash steams and that carries a unit of heat away from the corium.

As the heat is pulled away, the atoms get closer and the corium contracts. Making more fission events per neutron release. Which makes more heat, which flash boils the water faster (from radiant heat) which carries more heat away.

As the corium descends into the ground it approaches ground water. That water will begin to steam long before the corium actually comes in contact.

Because there will be an ENORMOUS steam/mox particle explosion when it does make contact. The corium is the bullet, the hole it burned is the rifle and the water is the charge. It will fire MOX fuel into the atmosphere, high into the atmosphere.

Which could potentially kill EVERYONE down wind for hundreds of miles before the plutonium drops outs.

This opened my eyes to how reckless the industry (not only Japan) has been.

There were measures that could have been taken that would have prevented the problems that we are seeing.

The spent fuel could have been housed on site in stainless steel vaults while they figured out what to do with it.

There was no long term solution for maintaining power after the plant was shut down. The generators got flooded, and then there was only about a days worth of emergency backup. I find this unbelievable.

It all comes down to money, crazy, crazy world.

How many time until an international executive action on Fukushima?

The MOX must be retired. They could use Thorium instead and/or liquid Sodium for cooling. Go figure.

If simply they don't know how to deal with the problem, you can bet about the 21st Century Greatest Engineering Enterprise: the sealing of Fukushima under an huge land-sea hermetic macrostructure or sealed container.... under decades of monitored quarantine.

Sure, they can destroy & burn all that. How? Nuking it?

I would say there are billions, actually trillions, of becquerels per day being released airborne, mainly from Units 2 and 3.

Actually on cold nights you can still the steam coming off those reactors, its not just steam its radioactive steam.

Something on the order of trillions of becquerels per day… trillions of disintegrations per second per day are being released even now.

The Japanese mafia the Yazuka pops up here and there while reading about Fukushima. I think it is interesting from a conspiracy theory point of view. I will spare you on that but this article says the Yazuka were involved in the contruction of the plants and that they somehow forced workers to go to the plants after the disaster.

There are surprisingly a lot of articles now about how the Yazuka are helping the cause.

[link to www.telegraph.co.uk]

snip

Suzuki discovered evidence of Tepco subcontractors paying yakuza front companies to obtain lucrative construction contracts; of money destined for construction work flying into yakuza accounts; and of politicians and media being paid to look the other way. More shocking, perhaps, were the conditions he says he found inside the plant.
His fellow workers, found Suzuki, were a motley crew of homeless, chronically unemployed Japanese men, former yakuza, debtors who owed money to the yakuza, and the mentally handicapped. Suzuki claims the regular employees at the plant were often given better radiation suits than the yakuza recruits. (Tepco has admitted that there was a shortage of equipment in the disaster’s early days.) The regular employees were allowed to pass through sophisticated radiation monitors while the temporary labourers were simply given hand rods to monitor their radiation exposure.

Who runs Japan? How much influence does the mob have?

I think it's interesting, what do you think Citizen?

If simply they don't know how to deal with the problem, you can bet about the 21st Century Greatest Engineering Enterprise: the sealing of Fukushima under an huge land-sea hermetic macrostructure or sealed container.... under decades of monitored quarantine.

Sure, they can destroy & burn all that. How? Nuking it?

OK, you geniuses on Physics of the world... You can think about some way to fix it... quicky & rightly.

misnomer, and wishful thinking....

Reality helps? Only Scifi. THEY CAN'T FIX IT.

Re: RED ALERT!!! It's boiling inside Fukushima Unit No. 3

Obvious. Yakuza is behind every lucrative stuff in Japan.
