long story short, back some time ago we moved the earth back in time. there was a catastrophic event we could not save ourselfs from. using the only tech available to us we made a jump back in time. the calendars were adjusted and nobody is around thats any of the wiser. Some of the population stayed. the rest went off in space looking for answers.

This is why doom did not happen on 12-21-12. We have not hit this date yet.

The population that went out into space had to do so in crude spaceships. They were not effective for long term radiation and eventually overtime the populous morphed into what we called greys.

They are now coming back, monitoring us as we go closer to 2012 hoping that someone will find a fix for our demise and they can finally return home.

The truth can be hard to grasp when you are brainwashed. Science is discovering many earthlike planets in recent times, but clearly the scientists are wrong because that would prove evolution right and be a threat to Catholics.

"Religious" = A guide to live by. Religious Aliens would have a certain part of themselves that would be distinct from their culture. Something to live by, a moral code.

Seems unlikely, does seem likely however that "aliens" might come and plant a sow and reap system for them to profit from by obtaining the planets minerals that they wanted /needed.

Maybe these hypothetical aliens worship a hypothetical god who is much more active in their day to day lives? Maybe this "god" even gave them the technology used to travel through space? Just maybe, this hypothetical alien god, sent his followers on a mission?

From my personal view, it is more about the symbols than the religion itself. Passing on of knowledge over the generations through an organised institution. Like the orators of past/present cultures.

The knowledge is still relevant. I think the main point is to try and interpret why.

Science has no mechanism or theory whatsoever that can explain how anything "evolve" without som intelligence controlling and guidiung it.

Darwin said himself that if life could not be reduced beyond some basic structure his theories would fall apart. Today we know that life cannot be reduced to simpler forms than a cell, a cell is an enormously complex system but still it's a biochemical machine basicly. Something like a cell must have been created by a superior being. Period. Now are you going to address my statements OP or are you just going to write more meaningless bullshit.

Good point, but evolving needs new ideas for progress and the passing of ancient knowlege could pull a culture backwards
