Find a need and fill it.

One day at the Post Office, a lady who spoke no English came up to me with a five gallon bucket of tamales.

Admiring her enterprise since she looked to be about 80, I bought a dozen tamales for $7.

Later, I saw her at another Post Office selling tamales.

Based on sales I saw, she was making about $200/day cooking tamales and selling them like that. She did not appear to even own a car.

Oh yeah, I walked up and said on our second meeting, "No hay carne en los tamales. Y hay no mas de siete tamales. Usted no puede contar!" (There was no meat in the tamales. And there were only seven. You cannot count!)

So she may not have followup sales, but you gotta admire the chutzpah!

So you can mow lawns, wash cars, babysit, walk dogs, paint barns, or whatever people need.
