The global economy is highly specialised. Low cost manufacturing out East, energy from the ME (there is a reason why the ME has sunk intio such extreme ignorance as it has), and the shoppers reside in the West. Japan is an integral part of the Eastern factory economy.

I think Fukushima already had a melt down from a network attack. The corium reached the water table and created the mega earthquake by exploding deep in a fault line.

If you noticed the earthquakes, they weren't normal at all. No primary wave like regular earthquakes. More like a nuclear bomb but the signature was longer.

Wow, Voltaic, that is a possibility which had never occurred to me (I tend to play "what if?" when presented with a situation like this) While something like that could never happen in the U.S., in Japan the Gov't has such control over every facet of life that they could squelch any information they don't want known, no matter how dire. At least for awhile, until gradually some information begins to be leaked by witnesses (which may be what has happened here).

One question: do you remember where the "epicenter" of the earthquake was? Would that tend to support your suspicion? (Well, I guess that was two questions. Sorry.)
