Quoting: Shoot straight Johnny The sun is 93 million light years away, so something travelling at 2 million mph would take about three days to get here. 93 Million light years....?????? Really.... I just pooped a little at your ignorance. Well, astronomy was never one of my strong points at school. I was too busy kissing girls behind the bike sheds. Sorry but that sounds absolutely gross?!?!?!?!?! You guys are idiots. Just google it. The sun is 92,960,000 miles (149,600,000 km) away from us. It takes sunlight an average of 8 minutes and 20 seconds to travel from the Sun to the Earth. It takes a CME an average of 98 hours to reach earth. So given that they aren't even telling what just blew.. a chunk of the sun? What is that? It's kind of difficult to tell how long it will take to get here. This happened in between 13-18 and they are just now picking up on it so... from what I've been reading it's kind of up in air about what's going to happen. The severity of this alone is being debated and considered this last happened during the 17th century mini ice age, we might want to start stocking up on food and fire wood and head to the equator. The sun's behavior at least explains why the weather is getting so extreme. And it's ironic too 'Cause what we tend to do Is act on what they say And then it is that way~Jem. |

The dark spot is a very still sun, it is much less active in the dark spot... it blew off, pft. Maybe they are using devices in experimentation that will effect things on earth and using this dark spot on the sun as the excuse to reap havoc! |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 44065675 United States 07/30/2013 08:19 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Seriously.. dewd over 1/3.rd of the sun has launched itself directly at us and these dickheads want us to believe that not only is this normal.. but that it's happened many times before & it's no big deal other then a couple of power glitches. I have never in my entire 53 years.. ever heard of even a tiny piece of the sun 'breaking off' & these clowns are being just a little too calm about a piece this size, like damm just look at the size of this thing.!! Here is the way I think it works with them! Hel..l.o! you see that hole in the sun! What is in F.u.c.k... is it? What in the Hell! are we going to say that is? Another person, Oh, we will make something up like we always do, when we don't know what it is. We can say it always happening, they will believe it, they believe all the other made up answers before! |

It is has come and gone already. Also, it is just a coronal hole that happens all the time and was shown in a hyped up wave length. It is kind of like taking a negative image of your face and saying it has a really big dark spot. Wake up. This is media hype.
