Quoting: ftownballa [link to www.nytimes.com] This goes with the info put out yesterday that major strikes are coming in the next 7-10 days! Hence why Russia unloaded 175 units of hardware in Tartus including the Skhval and Onicks/Club systems. Will be interesting to see how much Israeli hardware hits the floor. You bring up a good point though, the F-15's and F-16's are no match for the state of the art Russian Air Defense Systems. This could be the real reason we don't see a NATO No-Fly Zone. The F-35's aren't ready, and the US Only F-22's are not Combat ready, yet. The F-117's are in storage with the wing off. Thomas Crimmins of the Washington Institute for Near East Policy speculated in 2009 that the F-22 could be a strong diplomatic tool for Israel, strengthening the capability to strike Iranian nuclear facilities. Crimmins also stated the F-22 may be the only aircraft able to evade Russian S-300 air defense systems, which Russia may sell to Iran.[61] However, Lockheed Martin has stated that the F-35 can handle the S-300, additionally Russia has stated they support and voted for United Nations sanctions on Iran preventing sales of the S-300 |

Go on Israel..get on down and do your thing! When the shit hits the fan, and it will...don't say you didn't have your fun, ok. For a people who wrote our bible, I find it suspicious that our bible says that God requires us to forgive 70 times 7...yet the Jewish bible says...never forgive, never forget! Hmmmmmm.....send the fool even further huh? |

"Israel has had nasty surprises from these things before," he said, noting its steep losses to the Soviet anti-aircraft missiles used by Syria and Egypt in the 1973 war. Hewson felt Israel would prefer to destroy the S-300 in Syria but may opt instead just to circumvent it as required for missions, especially if there was the risk of inadvertently killing or wounding Russians helping to install the system. Security sources have put the number of Russian military personnel in Syria at several hundred. "The Russians would react badly to losing their people, and Israel knows that equally," Hewson said. |

LOL, same old GLP time doesn't change. behold evidence #24,055,001 why prob 99% of all internet posters and 99.9 % of self-satisfied, spaztastic conspiracy tardz post can only be useful for unintentional comedy and irony. So much tard ignorance, so much glib, so much pretense.... and so little time. I am younger than most of you and even I know the basics: For all fancy and expensive Russian AD Syria has had since the Soviet days - and those Russia AD are supposed to over-lap and provide ultimate redundancy.... Israel has repeatedly RAPED Syrian airspace any time it wanted. Oh sure, the Syrian AD layout looks very impressive, almost overkill. Seemingly impenetratable. [link to www.google.com] But facts say something else. The 2003 strike on Palestinian terror camps hosted by Assad. 2006 buzzing of Assad's freakin palace scaring the bejeezus out of his whole family. And the Sept 2007 nuke reactor bombing. And more buzzing of Assad's palace, assassination of Imad Mughniye and General Mohammad Suleiman both in 2008... Then there were the 5 seperate alleged strikes in 2013 alone - 1 in January, 2 in May, 1 in June and 1 in July. And the uber-hyped Russian systems like Buk, Tor, Pantsyr, Tunguska, Igla-S not to mention the extra-long range S-200 were all proven to be impotent. Couldn't even down a single slow Israeli drone from literally 1,000 of Israeli overflights both in Syria and Lebanon over the years.... Pathetic doesn't even begin to describe it. There are F-15 and F-16... and then there are the Israeli F-15 and F-16, with world-class indigenous upgrades and the kind of classified Electronic Warfare systems even military juggernaut like the USAF doesn't possess. Allegedly. Plus, Israel has unique cyber, intelligence and special forces capabilities likely on the ground in Syria, which means most Russian radar is blinded apriori (see: 'Operation Orchar' September 2007) Not that full capabilities F-15 and F-16 that still kick major ass despite being over 40 years old technology.... were probably needed to begin with. A few specialied PGM or JDAM stand-off bombs, maybe an odd SLCM like Popeye-Turbo with its 1,500 kilometer range ---> and voila, all that fancy Russian gear, experts and command posts are kaput. Quietly and precisely. Message sent and received. Over and over. If not for insidious Team Obama leaks, nobody would even be the wiser except for Hezzies who miss another Yakhont shipment and that faggy ophtalmologist in Damascus of course. Keep dreaming, judophobic losers. When shit gets real, it won't be (just) F-15, F-16 paying your favorite Arab-Muslim dictator a visit. It would be low-yield neutron bombs and EMP signed with love from IDF. If not Jericho-III MIRV's. Until then, it's just child's play. Assad's stock of of M600, Yakhont, new radars and so on is severely depleted as it is. All Hezbollah's long-missiles are already in IDF's target bank. (even in 2006, their heavier missiles were destroyed by IAF in first 30 freakin' minutes; and in 2013 IDF is light year's ahead in capability, LMAO) Gotta clean up the neighborhood a bit before the Iran strike(s) most of which will prob be NATO anyway to be fair :) oh-no'es Thread: Largest Explosion In Syrian War Hits Suspected Chemical Weapons Site In Homs!!!! 200+ Killed After Alleged Israeli Air Strike!!!! |

Shall we call 2 more for August and perhaps 3 for September? It appears Hezbollah and Assad are very slow-learners. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 40483711 United States 08/01/2013 01:51 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I agree with the poster above Quoting: captain america 44413046 He tells it like it is I flew and trained with Israel pilots in the 70's There F-4's flew circles around us To be fair, in the 70s Israel was still a poor, Socialist desert. Brave and inspired and inspirational to the N-th degree, true, but with severe limitations.... always on the verge of being overrun by much big, better-armed, Soviet-led Arab-Muslim hordes. And that not even counting horrific almost daily terror (attempts) by Muslims, both within and without. Flash forward to 2013 and while Israel is still tiny... it's surprisingly advanced and IDF is very, very powerful. Enough nukes and EMP alone to blow up the world if need be. And that includes Moscow, Pyonyeong and Beijing if need be. If you thought their handling of the ancient F-4 was impressive, wait til you see what IAF will do F-35 when it installs its own systems on it. |
