Sandy Hook resident Robert Hoagland missing; possibly connected to case

Here's a comment that was left on a video I did about this case from someone who posts on an FB page for Robert.

You have no idea what they are doing or have done in trying to find him. You comments are mostly wrong and hurtful. If you moronic super sleuths were so good at this you would have found him by now! Isn't "weird and creepy" one of those telltale "shill" signs?

She asked the person who ran the FB page to ban a guy (the Dan" she's referring to in that post) who was posting links to GLP (probably this thread). Who would do that? Wouldn't they want this story to reach as far out there as possible?!

I blocked her. These people scare me.

Notice how she said our comments are "mostly" wrong? Hmmm, I wonder what isn't? I should unblock her and ask. LoL

I can understand how she might find things creepy if she surfs the site and finds all the different topics. I would say 99% of what we are posting is to show the inconsistent storyline of what could have happened to Robert. We were wondering why nobody in Newtown seemed to have any sense of urgency.

I don't think it was the forum she found creepy though, it was anyone asking questions about this missing man or pointing out the inconsistencies.

Ah. I find all those facebook pages kinda creepy if it makes her feel better. heh

There are some weird things happening in that town that our resident reporter is sleuthing. Just a matter of time and it will be out in the open.

this forum is completely ridiculous. the information everybody is trying to come up with on robert hoagland and his family and the case is so inaccurate. NONE of you know the story and the truth behind what happened so you should all just shut up and stop. They are certainly getting a more consistent story.

This passage caught my eye.

"Newtown police are working closely with Bridgeport police on the case, Chief Kehoe said."

"Lori Hoagland, Mr Hoagland’s wife, said September 4 that the incident that resulted in her son’s arrest in Bridgeport is not related to her husband’s disappearance.

Chief Kehoe declined to comment on Max Hoagland’s arrest in Bridgeport.

The police chief said he does not recall a local police case during the past decade in which a person has been missing for so long a period."

Also, Mrs Hoagland had a friend check her Sandy Hook home and her husband was not there.

I am beginning to wonder if Robert being " missing " is on purpose.

I kind of thought that from the beginning...it was at least at the back of my mind, especially after that one comment that was made on Twitter of Fb about him "dying" to be found. He withdrew $600, and did not take his wallet/credit card with him. Obviously, he withdrew that for a reason.

Notice though, anybody that "knows" him who pops in out of nowhere can only resort to name calling and bashing, but offer nothing to refute anything that's been said? If this was my father or someone I knew, I'd be all over this trying to find the answers, not getting upset with people who were just trying to piece things together. If they said something that was inaccurate or not a possibility, I'd tell them so they could put it to rest, and move in another direction.

Either they are just people looking to get a rise out of us or they really want us to look the other way. Fine with me. They add nothing but another bump and their tirades are pretty odd because they always seem to opine on what bad people we are for just asking questions.

Yeah police in Newtown told police in RI that he may be in their area. The police in RI respond by saying " uh well so far we have not seen sh** but we will keep an eye out"

And so ends the article. LOL

I wonder if they assigned and officer to the Hoagland family to keep them abreast of the latest developments. That way the family has their privacy and everything is filtered through a trooper.


Funny thing. In this article they mention what he might have been wearing based on an " eyewitness ". Did they try to match that up with clothes that were missing? Oh gosh I hate to be that investigative reporter that we all wish for. I will pen my own Newtown version later. LOL

Why was such a big deal made about him being at the gas station, It wasn't the last he was seen. He didn't fill the tank and leave town never to be seen again. He went home, ate breakfast, mowed the grass. Didn't anyone talk to him or see him after that? Forget the Golf, the bagels and the half tank of gas. That is not even pertinent or related to his disappearance from his own home later in the day.

These are reasons I am thinking his disappearance might be on purpose. The puppy neighbor story keeps me wondering since she died shortly there after, unless that was a way of disappearing her/him as well.

Just a thought.

Wow can you belive these people. We are just trying to put the pieces together and help. We are compiling massive amounts of information,We have a chance of finding this guy. So Dan contacts the son via twitter, the son posts all angry. Can you belive that? Then Dan gets bloced from the FB site after sending links to GLP. This guy is missing. I can't possibly see why they would not want to read 22 pages of what color the car was when it is completly irrelevant. Oh and the son being pissed off that his father is missing and was lead to a site that talks about his mother being without feeling or emotion, them not doing enough, and finally that his father was involved some how in some conspiracy shooting. My goodness we are just trying to find the truth here, I cant possibly imagine why that would upset him. So you have gone painstaking days wondering where your father is but the truth is more important! You know in reality, this Dan guy is everywhere? Perhaps he really is involve and trying to throw everybody off? Anywhere there is a comment about the case he is there? The Newtown patch, you tube, here, the helpus find hoagy FB site, the sandy hook hoax FB site. He is right there to comment. Has anybody been able to find him on FB sine he has been blocked?

My goodness it is all clicking in!! How long has this dan guy been a member? what does he know? why is he so obsessed with the case? Is he using the sight to get information about himself and the case?

Did Max live with his parents or did he have his own place? What does Max have to say about Sunday afternoon, evening and night to early Monday morning, the time frame when Robert disappeared?

Good question. Sounds like Max did live with them but it is never said in any of the articles.

It sounds like the neighbor with the puppy died shortly after giving police information, did Max say anything about neighbor as well?

Great news!! Hope it's true!! Well, relatively great, anyway!

As for the friction, nothing any GLP'er has said, to date, even comes close to the rudeness of several people from Newtown who know Robert. Honestly, if one is going to complain about creepiness, it's not very fair to pick on strangers who are just trying to help, when one's own townspeople are leaving downright menacing comments such as, "I bet he's dying to be found."

At any rate, it doesn't really matter if we all squabble and nitpick, so long as multiple people are mobilized to be on the lookout and therefore increase the chances of him being found safe. In fact, honestly, the more controversy (i.e. noise) the better, to some extent.

Of course if he is trying to disappear, he's not going to be too big a fan of GLP lol.

Some GLPer on the Appalachian Trail with a smartphone be all, like, "Here's the latest live shot of Robert making a small fire," lol.

Only joking now because I'm really happy he may have been sighted, and I hope he's just having a midlife crisis and decided to take some time. When the story of them dragging the lake came out the other day, my heart sank. Would be so great if he's just on walkabout.
