Fishy.
Either the neighbor was standing close by, and would have been noticed by Robert and therefore become part of the conversation, or the neighbor was, what--standing a long ways away, but heard them yelling at the top of their lungs?
Possible, but sounds wrong. If you hear someone clearly enough to know they said they're leaving for a few hours, you probably don't just creepily watch this and then walk away with the puppy without saying anything. Where was the neighbor that she heard this exchange? Isn't it more likely the neighbor was the last to speak with Robert? Sadly, the neighbor that has now likely passed away?

Was Hoagland last seen at the gas bar or not? ALL FAKE story writing. Why? Answer: To distract us from The initial Sandy Hook shooting event. Why was such a big deal made about him being at the gas station, It wasn't the last he was seen. He didn't fill the tank and leave town never to be seen again. He went home, ate breakfast, mowed the grass. Didn't anyone talk to him or see him after that? Forget the Golf, the bagels and the half tank of gas. That is not even pertinent or related to his disappearance from his own home later in the day.
