Unbelievable: Cop says a Man is under Arrest "cause he says so"

This shit is just so WRONG. This is so illegal on that officer's piece of shit's part that I don't even know where to begin. I so certainly hope that dude lawyers up and sues the fuck out of the pd. AND I hope that officers gets fired.

It's getting where I'm not even surprised by these videos anymore. Remember, there are very few of these type of incidents that are actually recorded, hundreds go undocumented or reported. I avoid police at all costs! They are just looking for the next confrontation where they can exercise their "authority".

first you have to shoot the persons dog just to get a warning.

shooting someone puts you on the desk or paid leave until a 'full investigation' (performed by coworkers) is done.

then if no incontrovertible evidence turns up or after the police car video/audio log is 'accidentally' deleted, the report of 'justifiable or 'acting in the line of duty' conclusion comes out.

The FACT is police are trained, encouraged, and sought out to be and act like that. They want you afraid. They want you to not question, to obey.

That is, by condoning this behaviour, not firing the officer, having it go to court, having to fight for something that shouldn't have happened in the first place it emboldens the other officers to act as they please, and puts fear in the population to not stand up for themselves.

When something like this happens, it there are literally thousands of smaller transgressions that go on.

When something like this happens, for an average person to contest it requires thousands of dollars, weeks and months of their time. If a police officer has to defend themselves what do they do? Usually they get a desk job, or paid leave (in case they win) and the city/force/union will back them up right to the very end and then some.

Only in the most egregious cases will they sever their ties.

The system, by its very nature favours the police, which is why they feel entitled to act as they do.

I can say my cousin is NYS trooper and hes a genuine good guy. Not all are like this

In Pittsburgh in the 70's the cops would beat you up then arrest you. then when you went to court the judge would say you just got stopped by a cop having a bad day and laugh.

Well considering the fact that you are eight times more likely to be shot and killed by a police officer than you are to even be injured in a terrorist attack, I would say the kid got off light...

Disorderly = dragnet for arrest to keep the wheels of judicial system greased

Telling LE "no" will get you at best arrested, and at worst shot. Illegal or not, they truly believe that anything they tell you is a "lawful order".

Chances are this would have gone much better, without the blowhard "Am I being detained" bullshit.

Its pretty simple.
Act civil = get treated civil.

If your rights are truly violated, you'll be compensated considerably.

I'm not for the police, police state, etc. And I'm not against them either.

Chances are if you dealt with what they deal with, some smart ass punk isn't going to receive your upmost respectable treatment.

Yes I have been beat up by the police. Why? Felonious evasion. Thought I was a cool 18yo, and happened to have a faster than they did.

Got pulled over by the same two cops a week later, and took my ass whippin. Never got charged for the fleeing/evasion, but I had enough sense to keep my mouth shut about the bumps and bruises. Could have made a stink about it as there were witnesses, who couldn't believe what they saw happen.

A decade plus later, I've learned, if you aren't doing anything wrong you have no worries. Just treat the individual that is doing the job someone has to do, as you would like to be treated if you were that individual.

These guys (cops) mostly don't want to waste time with traffic tickets, and other revenue producing infractions.
They are generally in it for the real crime adrenaline rush stuff. They Have to do those menial tasks in between the exciting action.

So when you act like a cocky/stuck-up/I know my rights/asshole, expect to be treated as such.
