Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1461298 I take back my pedo comment. It seems like he was well loved. Sorry. You're forgiven, now go paint a happy little tree in your world, lol. |
Captain Spaulding User ID: 43933221 United States 08/03/2013 05:50 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I used to watch this street performer kid, about 20, working Venice Beach in Cal. All he had was a stack of cheap ceramic plates and little board he used for a palette. Nothing else. He sat on the ground on the boardwalk and you give him a couple of bucks and he'd take a white plate, dip the tip of a finger in the paint and create the most beautiful art FAST(!). Tropical sunsets, city and mountain skylines and ocean scenes with birds and animals. It took him about 3 minutes for each one. All he used was one fingertip. All his art supplies were a board he would find on the ground somewhere in the morning, some paint and some blank white plates and his fingertips. He just dotted and smeared away and always had a big crowd of people watching oohing and awing. Hell, I sculpt and do woodworking. I have a whole room full of tools and supplies and am always looking for more to buy, or everyday things I could use for textures and stuff. This kid creates remarkable, legit art with a fingertip sitting in the street. I'm doing something wrong. NO! I'm NOT a gadget freak for instance like most of todays (ahem) so called "photographers". And I have a degree in fine arts photography from Brooks Institute. I have ONE decent camera that I use to still do consulting work for film, video and commercial productions. I quit "the biz" years ago, but still get calls for help now and again and it does real nice for paying bills. I live to work with dogs. They're my first love. Working with artists and designers (REAL ones) fills my other passions (and my checking account). I can't imagine a world without art or canine companionship. Ugly ugly ugly boring predictable and a waste of life. |

Artist Fabian Gaete Maureira brings fingerpainting to a whole new level, in that he can paint an entire Bob Ross style landscape scene in about a minute, only using a finger or two. For those unfamiliar with Bob Ross, the style can be describe as stabbing and smacking a canvas with a brush, but in such a way where it looks like leaves and water. |
