Keep2theCode User ID: 20545539 United States 08/04/2013 11:03 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Why? Why do KJVOs keep stirring the pot? The Bible, even the KJV, does NOT say what you claim. In fact, the translators wrote in the Preface ("To The Reader") that they knew they had an imperfect translation, and they expected improvements to be made in the future. Most KJVOs have never even seen an original 1611 copy but only later revisions. Did you know that Jesus and the apostles quoted from a translation of the Old Testament, yet considered it just as much the Word of God as the original Hebrew writings? God is clearly not against translations, and certainly not beholden to one or two languages... especially languages that didn't exist for hundreds of years after Christ. So don't be conceited about the KJV; don't repeat the slander so many others repeat. Live the teachings instead of attacking fellow believers over a slavish idolatry of human languages. Have I now become your enemy by telling you the truth? (Gal. 4:16) |

The Creator's names are completely distorted in the KJV. There is no translation for Jesus in Hebrew. The name was made up in the 1600s. The KJV uses "LORD" and "GOD" Multiple times. "God" has a name. Those names could be referring to anyone. Jehovah is a pagan God, so you fail miserably. |

If you're ever wondering if a Bible is worth it's weight, check 1 Timothy 3:16. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 43795069 For example: 1 Timothy 3:16 The KJV : GOD WAS MANIFEST IN THE FLESH The NIV : He appeared in the body They both mean the exact same thing. To be manifest is to be made clear or apparent; the flesh in that context refers to the physical body. Both versions accurately convey the idea that Jesus appeared in physical form. What we need is more THINKING and READING COMPREHENSION and less SNOBBERY. Have I now become your enemy by telling you the truth? (Gal. 4:16) |
