Oh wow - that's got to be the most traumatic think that could happen to someone.

Geesh - you should be pretty damn sure how a girl feels about you before you attempt to pull something like that in front of an audience1

Her saying no gets reported as news... as if she somehow did something unusual because of course normally when some putz proposes at a ball game or whatever, the chick says yes...

Well, she didn't.

He asked her a question with a yes or no answer... she said no, she didn't want to marry him, dumb bastard should have did it quietly, should have known it wasn't 100% in the bag and also shouldn't have put her literally on the spot.

But that's rather the point isn't it eh?
On some level he's choosing to do it so publicly because deep down he thinks it'll improve the chances of her saying yes.


...and if he needs to trap her in a public crowd and put the pressure of "performing" for the crowd on her... she can't say no and spoil the atmosphere right?
If he has to resort to that to shave the odds in his favor he shouldn't be asking this chick to marry him in the first place ffs.

Basically, she probably had a lucky escape there.

Even the mascot "The Rock Cat" got involved. I used to go to the games in New Britain (AA Twins) but I thrown out of the park for smoking a cigarette in the stands. Haven't been back since.

That mascot seemed a little too excited that she said no..
