Theistic Evolution

[link to en.wikipedia.org]

"Theistic evolution, theistic evolutionism or evolutionary creationism is the view that religious teachings about God are compatible with modern scientific understanding about biological evolution. Theistic evolution is not a scientific theory, but a range of views about how the science of evolution relates to religious beliefs. Supporters of theistic evolution generally reject the conflict thesis regarding the relationship between religion and science – that is, they hold that religious teachings about creation and scientific theories of evolution need not contradict each other. Historian Ronald Numbers describes the late 19th century Christianised Darwinism of George Frederick Wright as Christian Darwinism.

Theistic evolution has been described as the position that "evolution is real, but that it was set in motion by God", and "Theistic evolution, which accepts that evolution occurred as biologists describe it, but under the direction of God". The term was used by National Center for Science Education executive director Eugenie Scott to refer to the part of the overall spectrum of beliefs about creation and evolution holding the theological view that God creates through evolution. It covers a wide range of beliefs about the extent of any intervention by God, with some approaching deism in rejecting continued intervention. Others see intervention at critical intervals in history in a way consistent with scientific explanations of speciation, but with similarities to the ideas of Progressive Creationism that God created "kinds" of animals sequentially.

Evolutionary creation (EC, also referred to by some observers as "evolutionary creationism") states that the creator god uses evolution to bring about his plan. Eugenie Scott states in Evolution Vs. Creationism that it is a type of evolution rather than creationism, despite its name, and that it is "hardly distinguishable from Theistic Evolution". According to evolutionary creationist Denis Lamoureux, although referring to the same view, the word arrangement in the term "theistic evolution" places "the process of evolution as the primary term, and makes the Creator secondary as merely a qualifying adjective." Scott also uses the term "theistic evolutionism" interchangeably with "theistic evolution"."
 Quoting: StarPath

You can present/believe whatever you want...but that is certainly NOT found in the Bible. God made the animals after their kinds. The god of evolution is wasteful, violent, merciless, death-loving, foolish and wicked. The exact opposite of our LORD and Creator Jesus Christ.

Not in your bible, I'm sure. Go make more atheists, you're doing a great job.

And then the "he's not a scientist card."

If the:

"flesh stays alive for 65+ million years", doesn't work they ALWAYS move to... oh, well he's not a scientist.

I went to college for information systems and currently am working on them. I also am in excellent shape and practice excellent nutrition. But whatever you do NEVER take my advice on nutrition because I don't have degrees in Nutrition Sciences. LOL. You evolutionists will straw man every single thing. Then run up and down the streets screaming you have all the answers.

By the way the ancient Babylonians taught their masses they would evolve into gods someday also.

We're getting more dumb and more unstable than ever before. (Especially in industrialized countries like the US) we're devolving. Technology makes us dependent. If there is any sort of "human upgrade" that is labeled to be evolution it is going to be through the means of technology. The only species in billions of years to have to create something in order for them to evolve.

Sounds legit to me. /Sarcasm

Re: BREAKING: Scientist just got FIRED for peer-reviewed paper on Dinosaur Bone Tissue
The reason historic timelines and evolutionary theory have such a stronghold, is that they are not doing it to defend a religious dogma. Many scientists are Christians. It is a myth that they are atheists.

Personally, I think humans had some interaction with some of the remaining dinosaurs. The myths of dragons and how kingdoms had dragon slayers, fit too well with an overlap of dinosaurs and humans.

Perhaps dragon tales are coincidence, but a pretty big one.

That all said, can we keep Jesus and atheism out of scientific discovery?

Glad you are starting to question. I too began to doubt the theory that had been shoved down my throat since I was in diapers, around 2004. Shortly after that I found a 18 hour seminar series by Kent Hovind that changed my life forever. It is free to download on his website drdino.com and can be viewed on YouTube. The first part of the seminar is called "the age of the earth" and literally left me stunned, angry and so confused.
Why was I lied to all my life? Why is this theory so important to TPTB? Why wasn't I ever shown the evidence AGAINST evolution and FOR special creation?

The answers to those questions can be simply explained: TPTB want you to doubt God and trust them. They want you to believe you are just an animal, deriving from an earthworm and have no real value and no God-given, unalienable rights, that THEY cannot take away. I hope you will continue to search and when you finally get to the answers you seek, it all falls into place like the last piece of a puzzle. It happened to me and life has never been the same!

Hovind was the head and 1989 founder of Creation Science Evangelism, an activist group with a Young Earth creationist and dominionist point of view. He also operated a small museum and amusement park, Dinosaur Adventure Land.

In April 2006, during the runup to Hovind's trial for tax evasion, much of the park was shut down due to Hovind's refusal to secure a building permit. He was convicted on the tax evasion charges in November 2006 and is now serving a 10-year sentence. His son, Eric, now runs the Dinosaur Adventure Land and the Creation Science Evangelism. "

Both sides have an agenda.

The reality is it doesn't fucking matter.

Your religion is a fucking sham and I don't believe in your fucking fairy tales.

Same goes for the evolution "religion". I just don't give a fuck and it makes absolutely no difference in my life.

But yeah fuck face, you definitely have an agenda, and I just thought I'd drop in to tell you it's fucking bullshit. You fucking religio-tards are a bunch of fucking psychopaths!

Think about it though. Just one example.

Obama continually approves of drone strikes to "fight terrorism" with a 98% failure rate... has killed hundreds if not thousands of people with his orders. And gets a nobel peace prize.

Hovind fails to provide a building permit for whatever reason (let's hear his side, ill try and find it) and gets 10 years.

This seems fair right?

This forum should know better about people like Hovind. He did more than talk about evolution. He exposed the government of how it was moving to a totalitarian state and warned of how we were heading into this NWO. Hovind promoted American freedom which everyone US of A citizen on this forum should appreciate.

If the atheists on this forum can stomache some bible verses in Kent Hovind's (Prophecy Club)presentation it should open your eyes to why he was brutally despised by the government. Seems he was right on just about most of the material.

Are you bothered by me finding a particular post comical?

huh

Sorry that I'm not going to allow myself to get sucked into a never-ending debate in which neither side can proof their case (read: agenda) beyond any reasonable doubt. I find such debates tiresome and unfruitful.

Contact me when they determine the precise dating of the aforementioned dinosaur bones. Of course, this would require that those discussing this subject matter agree that there is some scientifically valid & reliable method for dating fossils & artifacts. Has this happened yet? Until then:

/Sarcasm

Kent Hovind destroys Evolutionist Pseudo-Skeptic Michael Shermer

This is the debate that first gave me a hint that something fishy was up with Evolution. Kent made simple, but effective arguments, and I kept wondering why Shermer could not answer any of them... He just kept dodging and obfuscating....

And then come to find out this is the pattern for ALL of Hovind's debates. He lays out simple and effective arguments, and the evolutionists always dance around it or drone on about how "Religion isn't science" or some other strawman.

A couple years later, after following the Evolution arguments, and studying the scientific literature, I know without a doubt that Evolution is complete fairytale nonsense, propped up by an endless stream of propaganda and the philosophical-religious worldview that its supporters hold. It has not an empirical leg to stand on.

Here is a link to Mark Armitage's Bio and statement of wrongful termination.

[link to creationicc.org]

Until recently, Mark served as the Manager for the Electron and Confocal Microscopy Suite in the Biology Department at California State University Northridge. Mark was suddenly terminated by the Biology Department when his discovery of softtissues in Triceratops horn was published in Acta Histochemica.

He is currently seeking relief in a legal action for wrongful termination and religious discrimination by the University.

Thats a garbage link.

Non-credible source.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 3937774

LOL, that source is basically to Mark, himself, his private research group. So he is not qualified to tell you he was fired? That makes a lot of sense.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 42364242

His private research group is filled with flakes, and questionable backgrounds. Plus anyone can create a "private research" group and claim anything they want, it doesnt necessarily mean its all true.

Really I'm not trying to start any bad blood I just want to know why you think I'm brainwashed when clearly this forum and all over the internet people are seeing how corrupt this world is. All the lies we'eve been fed our entire lives; people are starting to wake up.

Let's stay on topic though!

I originally posted how people who are against creationism tend to point out straw mans. So I pointed out common straw man's that are used when clearly scientists (like this one for example) all over the world get fired when they provide great proof of things that go fully against the evolutionary paradigm.

I called you out first after providing examples in my original post. Here's how ill show it.

Me: example
You: name calling
Me: exposing that you just name dropped and ran off
You: calling me out, on me calling you out, on your original response.

It's not sad it's just the series of events :)

this again?

it does not prove that the bones are younger than we thought.. it only proves that soft tissues can survive longer than we thought

if you read the articles the authors never hint at a younger earth

Just admit to yourself that the reason your twisted mind allows itself to be bamboozled is because the thought of a Creator that hates your sinful lifestyle and that would require you to live in a way you do not want to live is so appaulling to you, that you are WILLING to accept that which you KNOW is impossible, so that you can continue to deny Him and fulfill your fleshly lusts.

I know you won't though, pride truly goeth before destruction...
 Quoting: UnmannedAerialPilot

^^THIS so hard! You've summed it up nicely!

The idea that "a big random bang out of nothing for no reason at all made the universe and the quadri-billions of "coincidences" necessary to make life possible" is BY FAR more "magical" and stupid sounding than the concept of a Creator. So what came before the big bang? And before that? And before that? And before that? And before that? And before that? And before that? And before that?

The entire question of existnce and life necessitates the presence of a super being to create the equation to begin with... how would 'physics' suddenly manifest itself (from nothing) to order the universe? Come on now. Why has there been no big bangs since? If everything literally popped into existence from nothing, why don't we still see things randomly popping into existence from nowhere randomly? If the universe can literally -and I do mean literally- do magic, why can't we??? You folks are willfully insane lol

The existence of "life" is in and of itself illogical without the presence of a creator, unless you submit to the notion that if we travel back far enough in time, our (and ALL other forms of life) great^700 grandfather was a rock. Lol at that.

Between GOD and a "big, magic, unexplainable bang of utter coincidences", God is definitely the simpler of the two.

By Occam's Razor, God is the answer.
