Sivaro User ID: 8361466 United States 08/06/2013 03:30 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Interesting article, it shows that a company can pay well & still make a very nice profit Quoting: mathetes One company that hasn't had to deal with such strikes is Costco. The no-frills warehouse chain pays its hourly workers an average of just over $20 an hour, compared to just under $13 at competitor Wal-Mart. Costco seems to be investing some of those profits back into its employees. Cesar Martinez, a 37-year-old fork lift operator, has worked at a Costco in North California for 19 years. He makes $22.82 an hour, gets health benefits and a pension plan. He manages to save, and doesn't worry about hospital bills for his daughter, who suffers from asthma. "That's the reason why I've been here for so long," he said. "The company gives you a decent wage and treats you with respect and takes care of you. That's why we all give 100%." [link to money.cnn.com] Costco is due some serious respect. Costco gets the clappa! |

Is it the same across the country? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 43160888 20 bucks an hour is the national average... Anonymous Coward User ID: 7633015 Canada 08/06/2013 03:54 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Wally World down here in NC pays $7.25/hr to start, and all they do is hire blacks. There are not enough white people there so there's an in balance of discrimination going on but this state has always been democratic. They have always cheated, lied, and stole when they can. and they have a black sheriff in Vance County who for some unknown reason keep getting re-elected by a landslide. Gee, Now you know why that voter ID shit is coming up here. lmao! |
