more info, regarding Roche Limit: Why Do Comets Break Up?

[link to www.asterism.org]
www.asterism.org/tutorials/tut25-1.htm

a REAL scenario/NO SCI-FI:

Quoted.....
"a comet may head directly towards Earth at 20 km/s. As it approaches our Roche limit (approximately 28,300 km from the surface), it begins to break up 23.6 minutes before impact. At about 120 km above the ground the pieces encounter a tenuous atmosphere. In the next few seconds before impact many more pieces are created from atmospheric shock. The impact area would cover many square kilometers, destroying everything within hundreds of miles."

You know I was just sat in my laboratory then thinking about this.
I had looked at the trajectory of the Nasa page and if you zoom in and let the animation run, I'd say we should look more towards the first week of June.

That is when we pass through the trajectory of the comet and its remnants.

Kent, attached is a PDF of a document entitled "Narrative Report on the Hazards to Civilization due to Fireballs and Comets". Prepared by S. Klube, Physics Dept at Oxford University some years back. Spine tingling stuff considering all the recent amount of attention to P/73. Not sure if you have this listed or linked on your site anywhere but I thought it a very important document considering the implications discussed within. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.

The comet pieces pass on the sun side of earth, so the tail(s) will be pointed at earth.

Note the hubble pix.

I believe some of the fragments will hit us because when the comet cross opur plane he will be far ahead of us but the tail is 2 million KM long and then there are many debris that have falled out and have been distanced so much that they are not even part of the tasil anymore and those could very well just be in a collison rute.

is hoagland all pay-for-play now...it looks like they got to him, too...no more nasa is freakmasonry articles, which were laff attacks, by the way

like the all-seeing eye lapel pin that clinton wore at the millenium party in washington...and the analysis of the washington monument scaffolding fireworks being an obelisk penis of set fiery orgasm

what was that software package that he used to show that nasa launches are timed to coincide with astrologically important events

almost the equal of his royal scrote-scribe emperor kenton when he gets cranked up...and it is meant in a good way

Re: Comet 73P BD: What about the freakin tail?Quote

I’ve never been one to add to any fear mongering thread, but I think I should tell you of a dream I had two months ago.

It was a nice day my wife and I were driving our Mach1 to San Francisco to meet with our friends who have a place near Coit Tower.

The four of us were having a drink in the kitchen when we heard the first few impacts. We all ran to the window to see what was going on. Rocks the size of basket balls were falling all over the city causing damage and fires.

It was obvious we were going to survive but there was a lot of destruction to deal with.
