Then the government will shower you with money. Shave and wear a suit when asking for slush fund money. Make sure you spin how this will benefit wealthy people and their futures as wealthy people.

When it all crashes, claim squatters rights as the property is X feet from the road and not hooked up to utilities.

How much would it cost to lay in utilities? Could you pay for that then apply for a conventional and get enough money to cover the utility bill???

You can't put in utilities until you own the property. You can't own the property without the utilities. Currently is will cost approximately 11K to install electric and 5K for septic tank and god knows how much for water. Not happening.

I've owned a few off grid properties where you bulldoze, set up a water system, etc.

Banks don't want to loan, so you need to seek out private money. You may need to search for an off grid w/ owner carry to get set up.

Learn about water systems, gravity feed, and alt power- wind works good where I am, water at a friend's place.

Living off grid, you'll see more insects, birds, and you'll see things in a different way.

I had a deposit of approx $12,000 (for bare land) but no proper job at the time. Property was $35,000.
Luckily an acquaintance agreed to write on official letterhead (he ran his own business) that I was hired as his PA for $30,000 pa (average wage).
Took letter to bank.
Loan was approved.
I never actually started the "job" due to "unforeseen circumstances" but more importantly I've never missed a payment.
That was over 12 years ago, I've all but paid the loan off now. It wasn't a lot of money I borrowed, relative to most mortgages. Only $25,000, just enough to pay the balance owing after deposit.
