Today is Eid... Congress allows an Imam to open the session out of respect for the second largest religion in the world.
I see nothing wrong with that, sorry.

The scary thing is that the younger generation in western countries have now been so indoctrinated that they don't even realize this. When I was a kid how many people even knew about ramadam or eid or whatever? I can tell you - none in my neighbourhood, and that was London!
