How does this comply with the claim that muslims do not have to pay for Obamacare and still have the rigth to get the treatments like others who pay? Do they get a free chip card?

I never minded my tax dollars going to help people in need. Some people are dirt poor...just a fact of life.

But it always goes that you create a good thing for some and in no time....it gets abused by the lazy.

The hospitals are overrun with people who don't have insurance, illegals and otherwise. Not because they can't afford it...but because they don't want to pay for it.

So when you have hard working people picking up the tab for the lazy ones...what happens? Then everyone has to pay for it across the board.

That's the idea behind Obama care. Just like you have to pay for auto insc. and home owners insc...same thing. Left to make a choice...most wouldn't get it unless mandatory.

I don't like it, you don't like it. But we can't have people continuing to abuse the system, using hospitals when they get sick and then say "screw it, let someone else pay for it" ...legal citizen or not.

If Obama didn't crack down on charitable hospitals...they'd all be over there wanting freebee services.

I think you are confusing a "charitable hospital" with a regular hospital that accepts people with no insurance. A charitable hospital is like St. Jude's that accepts critically ill children regardless of insurance and is not financed by the State or Federal government. These are the hospitals that Obama wants to control now because they are exempt from ACA. These exemptions aren't part of the original plan that Obama wanted but had to allow due to pressure.

The hospitals you are referring to are either State run or they are teaching hospitals where the abuse has occurred. Now these hospitals will have to be a part of Obamacare, but their funding has increased dramatically.

Auto insurance is required because of LIABILITY. It's not to insure yourself but the person you may hit. Homeowners insurance is not required if you own your home, only when the bank owns it, i.e., when you have a mortgage.

When a hospital doesn't get paid, they write off the loss. It does not come out of your pocket, unlike what's coming.

Charitable hospitals that treat uninsured Americans will be subjected to new levels of scrutiny of their nonprofit status and could face sizable new fines under Obamacare.

The first thing that popped into my mind is places like St. Jude's Hospital.

How dare he try to close all the non-profit hospitals! This is complete madness!

Good, I don't have insurance and one of biggest fears when I visit my home country of the USA is getting in an accident and being FORCEFULLY taken to a hospital without my consent and ending up with a $20,000 bill for 2,000 worth of work.

In one way you are right... the way it is now is bad , and has to change.

But Obamacare is worse. It's not the answer. And who exactly, do you think is going to pay once it all kicks in anyway? You are ! In just the past three days, we got stuck paying for Congress, their aides and staff. Becsuse it's too much money for them to have to pay for it themselves. And it will just keep getting worse.

Somebody has to pay,. and if people couldn't afford it then, they can't now.

What do you think is going to happen when people start dropping dead, in the ER,'s of those Charity Hospitals? Or when the number of kids who dying from cancer, starts rising, because places like St Judes and A I Dupont's Children's Hospital aren't allowed to treat them, without being fined?

It's not a good system now. But if they took some time and had people, who actually know what they are doing, collaborate on a well thought out bill, have it administered by those who should be administering it, and not the IRS, and make it for those who presently don't have insurance, or who lose their insurance in the future, than it could be a good thing.

The way it is now, it's like we are being forced to choose between spending the rest of our lives with chronic diarrhea, or projectile vomiting. It's a crappy choice and most people don't want either

At the risk of getting banned, I will disclose the truth about forced death care.

Let's swallow the irony of the day shall we?

Your parents with the will of God put you on this planet and society indoctrinates you into a position that is in balance with you talents, for the benefit of all!

TPTB have subverted reality and have enslaved your labor as gifted to you by God, the shackles and chains have been passed out to all aboard with demands!

It is not enough that TPTB have stolen what is rightly yours through taxes and laws against nature and now what else could they require?

Now TPTB wish you to PAY FOR YOUR OWN DEATHS!

No free rides to hell anymore children!

Seek true freedom from all those who would further ENSLAVE you.

The tyrannical noose is around you necks, perhaps its high time to react!

I raise my flag against all tyranny and sight the words of Patrick Henry!

I am not a SLAVE and NEVER shall I bow to ANYONE!

You've got this one really wrong.

Non-profit charitable hospitals are notorious for "not" using the funds allocated for charity care for the uninsured for charity care.

They instead use much of these funds for such things as renovations, CEO/executive bonuses, even hospital holiday parties and retreats.

The ACA will crack down on this use of the funds and ensure that they go to what they were originally intended for.
I should know, being an uninsured cancer survivor I was always being told there weren't enough funds, or "we've run out of those funds really fast, sorry lady."

It's cheaper for a hospital to send an uninsured patient's bills to collections or to put a lien on property than use those funds for what they are for.

The original idea was hospitals that receive any kind of tax payer/government assistance every year have to use a certain percentage of those funds for charitable care, and they simply weren't.

#1.. Thank you LADY ENIGMA for pointing this out, I get so angry that I cannot fully explain myself!!

#2.. Absolutely NOT, there is no taxpayers dollars going for places like St.Judes. It is run solely on the donations of generous people.

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital opened on February 4, 1962 and was founded by the late entertainer Danny Thomas. Its mission is to find cures for children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases through research and treatment.

The daily operating cost for St. Jude is $1.8 million, which is primarily covered by public contributions.

During the past five years, 81 cents of every dollar received has supported the research and treatment at St. Jude.

No family ever pays St. Jude for anything.
