This is an astute analysis -BUT- using logical deductive reasoning will get you labeled a shill within this thread.
Quoting: PlasMan Actually I was getting into an area where I shouldn't. Not being a psychiatrist, I am not qualified to dx Lanza. Even if I was, I never met him or know his case history. A few of his former classmates and at least one teacher have commented publically on him. If indeed the diagnosis was Aspergers Syndrome, and that was the new popular diagnosis coming the shrinks beginning in the 1980's, we do not know the severity of it.
At the very least, he probably suffered from anxiety, if what his classmates said were true, and could very well have been prescribed an SSRI or other medication. Personally I call it Geek Syndrome, and look it as such.
Several years ago I hired a young man in his 20's with Aspergers. He was hired for a position of what I will call, "technical services", and was one of the best in his field. His relationship with his fellow employees was typical "geek", and everything was fine for a year.
Then one morning I got a call he was arrested for felony forged prescriptions. He had developed a friendship with a young woman who, in reality was addicted to prescription pain killers, and in short order had manipulated him to commit this crime in order to preserve their "friendship."
Unfortunately we had to let him go.
The moral of this story is, we do not know any where near enough yet, of what was going on in Lanza's life, who besides his mother he had contact with, and whether indeed he could have been manipulated to commit this crime.
