I wanted to add, that they mentioned they were 25 miles from River of No Return Wilderness. There is a huge fire there right now. Its over 14,000 acres and they are letting it burn. They will find them, forest service has alot of resources, flyovers, etc.

They will find them because they have a general idea of where they are. People on foot in the wilderness can only move a few miles in a given day. Water is essential. They would need to stay near some sort of stream or river, and also be proficient at fishing/trapping/hunting.

Neither of these two sounds like a true outdoorsman. The Nichols (father and son who kidnapped the biathlete in Montana 30 years ago) were experienced outdoorsmen and eluded capture for some months.

These two will be in trouble once winter hits, which is about six weeks in this part of the country.

Severe weather for next three days. Dry lightning, red flag warning, windy, thunder, lightning, possible downpours. That is some rugged country.
