I actually had a dream just like this a couple of years back. There was Martial Law AND ALIENS. After most people had been wiped out, the alien ships went around terraforming the earth & restoring it.

In my dream I was protecting a group of children & we staying out of sight & I was bust collecting supplies to take care of them as we went along. Just when I thought I wouldn't be able to stay ahead any longer, we ran into a group of men (they made me think of Marines) and they helped us. They went ahead & it was all out war. After the smoke cleared, the war was over & the alien ships began terraforming & I saw green grass & clean air again.

Recently I have augmented my opinion of the Japs. (I live in Japan).

They've got enough intelligence and resources to get themselves into trouble. What does everyone know about the Japanese? Well, we've all heard about the 'kamikaze' pilots. Faced with inevitable defeat and occupation, some sacrificed their lives in the hope it would swing things to allow Japan to continue unmolested by non-Japanese. Where is this spirit now? There were and are loads of people who wanted to volunteer to do a deadly job at Fuku in the hope it will give the youngsters a chance. Those folks were blacklisted and otherwise forbidden to go. I guess money was the reason - probably some insurance bs.

Old Gengy (Khan) and his mobs tried a couple of times to land in Japan but were unable to land because of storms - twice. Then they gave up. The Japanese have always rolled-off that story to the kids and made them feel Japan is special and gods are protecting her.

I wonder if part of the reason behind japan's piss-poor performance with Fuku is down to some sense that the gods wouldn't let Japan be poisoned? I suspect a lot of people are forcing themselves to believe it anyway.

And I don't really understand about the recent reports of Japanese debt. I think the debt is to the public here. I gather half of the revenue the gov collects in taxes is to pay for interest on the money it owes to the citizens.

But I don't understand what it means? I know the gov is printing money like the clappers, and all the extra money is diluting the yen and bringing savers' accounts down in value.

Is what's happening in Japan something like a rich person spending all his money and then carrying on the illusion of being wealthy by credit and fraud? I really don't know, but after living here reasonably happily for twenty years I'm suddenly so disgusted with the way this country is being run I want to go somewhere else.

As for the radiation, oh, it'll drop to the bottom of the ocean, where eventually I'll be absorbed by Mother Earth. However, the short-term (10 years) problem is the eco-system ... meaning our FISH. Since no-one has ever imagined anything like this, who knows what the die-off will look like ... In them, or US.

As for nuclear rain from evaporation ... not too much. I haven't seen anything to indicate that will happen ... well, not beyond the coast of Japan that is.
