Quoting: Anonymous Coward 20628155 No, but with a 740 score you can get a credit card and go to Thailand. Anonymous Coward User ID: 45016864 United States 08/12/2013 12:08 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | If we are judging a person's character based on their credit rating; we need to also judge the people that lent the money to someone who is not capable of paying. These are the people that will loan you money at a low interest rate and once you miss a payment; they jack it up to 29.99% interest. There is another group of people who lend money. They are called the mafia and they use the same tactics. There was once a concept called usury and these practices were looked down upon. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1607308 But no, let's instead blame the little guy who is completely desperate and nearly defenseless. Let's rely on highly inaccurate and arbitrary credit ratings to judge one's character. The responsibility should be bared by both the lender and borrower. Look at the mortgage crisis. The media would have you believe it is all the little guy's fault. But the banks and government should never have encouraged lending to people who couldn't afford it. But do we hold them responsible? No. And I'm sick of all these self righteous people who are successful. I am sure you have worked very hard to achieve you success. But there is a whole lot of people in this country who have been fortunate enough to have never experienced what it is really like to be poor. And it could happen to anyone at any time: illness, job loss, death, tragedy. And you think that you acted completely alone to achieve your success. You forget when you're wealthy or middle class family assisted you or even the government helped you. I have lived off of $500 a month working a full time job. And I brought myself out of that and now make 60k a year. I have worked my ass off to get here and in this current job but honestly I worked as hard or even harder when I was pulling $500-800 a month. It was just in the wrong industry. You will whine and complain about people who receive government benefits. Did you know that over 90% of American households have received gov. benefits? You will also belittle people who get loans that they have trouble repaying. You don't understand the desperation. Their world is not about buying stupid shit and complaining about these fantastical parasites that are trying to steal your money; that is your world. Their world is 99% about survival. Stop acting like you know what it is like and stop being so judgmental and self righteous. ^This^ |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 37829000 United States 08/12/2013 12:16 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I believe that as well. Along with evictions, etc. But, if someone is laid off from a job that has sustained them for any period of time and their lifestyle is dependent on that income, then their credit ratings will take a hit simply because they will not be able to keep paying the bills. If they are going to insist on using credit ratings as part of the hiring scenario, then they should also take into account why the credit rating fell, not just that it did. Being an ex-banker I saw it all on credit reports... And people will always claim extenuating circumstances. The only extenuating circumstance I gave much credence too was medical, everything else was simple... You got yourself into it, you promised to pay, and you didn't... Sometimes. I know a financially independant guy who got credit cards from dirty banks like BofA And Chase, then maxed them out in Gold/Silver and then let them hang. He didn't need his credit, understands exactly what the banks are doing and then fucked them on pricipal. If we all did that the world would be a better place. Anyway, his credit is shit but he isn't a risk to you unless you're a crooked, predatory douche bag. |

I bought a new vehicle a couple of weeks ago and they just assumed I was going to finance it...I said no I'll just write you a check. He said that if I took the financing they'd knock off a thousand bucks and I could pay it off with no penalty after 90 days. I laughed and told him I have never borrowed money and that I don't have any credit...he insisted so I let him run it...he came back with a sheet of paper listing my addresses with no lines of any kind of payment, I literally have no credit score, LOL So of course I didn't qualify for the financing, because that's what poor people do...they would rather loan money to someone that owns nothing and just rents their life...fuck their thousand bucks, I just wrote the check and drove off in my new vehicle :) Good for you! I'be been there. Done that. I don't use credit. EVER. That said? Most people I know tell me that I wrong for doing this - that I NEED CREDIT. BS! If I can't pay for it? I DON'T NEED IT. I agree with you both... but what do you do about purchasing a house? Not everyone can save up 500-1 mil in cash. The houses around here do not go for any less than that... Just wait until interest rates spike. Just like in the 80's, there will be lots of creative financing available. There are plenty of hard-money lenders with tons of cash who would love to be equity partners in a property. Don't listen to those towing the line of the banksters who want you to believe that they are the only game in town. Phennommennonn (OP) Forum Administrator 08/12/2013 12:20 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Bad credit cost me a job Quoting: Phennommennonn After employers running credit checks on him, more than a dozen employers told him he was too much of a credit risk. Read more: [link to fox43.com] folks we discussed this back in 2010/2011 in voice chat - whats happening is obvious - deliberate destruction of the workforce. theyre not just running criminal BG checks - theyre also running credit checks and CLUE reports <---clue reports are what ins co's use, to verify your driving record and how many ins claims youve put in. *from what im hearing, your medical, tho supposed to be protected right? will also play a factor in employment. you lie about your medical, they will know. btw.....here in pa.....if you leave a job, employers report it to wage/hour. you can say why you left a job....the new employer will 'know' - how? bc its reported to the state. Does this apply to those who were forced to file for bankruptcy? We lost a major amount of work after the crash in 2008. Our business slowed down so much that by 2011 we could no longer afford to pay the bills and we were forced to file for bankruptcy which dropped our credit score down to around 650-675. My credit score was always 775 up until I was forced to file for bankruptcy. So this means if we give up our business and tried to find work, it would be pretty much impossible? if its negative its on the credit report. political correctness is a doctrine.... fostered by a delusional, illogical minority...... and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media; which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end. |
