Intelligent people: Do you ever wish that you weren't as smart as you are?

sometimes i wish i could lose about 30 points of iq so i could follow some religion and live with blind faith in an invisible god and afterlife, but if i gave up those 30 points id also have to work for a living.

Get language software from *cough*PB*cough.*

Practice the language,then while at work translate everything you do or say,into the other language (in your head).

Within six months you will be speaking another language.

Rinse and repeat.

Stops boredom in it's tracks.

I like working, I enjoy being physical and having to stay on top of multiple tasks at once. I like to see how thin I can spread myself before the walls collapse. But at the same time if I set up my own business I'm not sure I would be successful enough to survive. I probably could, but I like living comfortably.

I kind of like that idea. Language was never my strong point though, being highly dyslexic I could see it being problematic, though it would be a challenge which is what I'm looking for..

Not me, I'm average, but my husband is brilliant.
He has 6 things going on at once in his head, makes him anxious.
He's a programmer and has a shelf life of about 5 years at any given company. He goes in, cleans up their systems, gets bored and moves on.
His down time is filled with learning new programming languages, or when he wants to shut off his brain, he reads (math, physics, etc) watches movies, and plays civilization building games.
I think for him the key was finding something that was mildly challenging and engaging while entertaining.
I for one, don't wish for more intellect, but rather wisdom and drive.

nope I am grateful, helped me sail through all my studies with mínimum effort, top grades, just as well,couldnt be bothered studying too much. But a sense of humor is needed because you see things as they are,without the makeup, problemas most peopledont. So you either choose to get annoyed asyou try to explain or just play dumb.

If you are very intelligent you will probably live a hermeticallife alone andor with soulmate if you are lucky enough to findone that doesnt tick according to Facebook values

I do the same thing. The only way I get past it is to learn something new. I started out as a video editor, got into shooting, then producing, then motion graphics, then animation, then effects work, then web design. Now I am bored with web design. Thinking about learning programming, writing a book and releasing an album. Keep on challenging yourself, the worse that can happen is you build a huge skillset!

Intelligence is not hard. Wisdom is. You can call yourself as intelligent as you want but if you can't fathom wisdom your iq may aswell be 0.

that is why people do drugs, drink alcohol, crave sex so bad.

They are actually trying to intentionally lower their consciousness.

They do not realize why, exactly though. They do not want to know the truth, or face the truth of their satanic overlords. They sense the evil around them and want to escape it the only way they know how, to curl up into a ball and go fetal.

That's what alcohol , drugs, sex is, a kind of going fetal, curling up into a ball and sucking your thumb.

Dont be ridiculous. An intelligent person wouldnt behave like that. Maybe "some" would like that to be the norm to dumb down the mart ones, but the intelligent ones know better.

The problem with you homos that came out of the closet is,
that you are bored now because you are less preoccupied than you were when you were hiding your homoness. So much effort and thought spent hiding your homoness before, now there's a void. That void you obsess with filling with homo-ism !

Now most homos fill that void trying to convince and change the moral fabric of society, and try to convince society that homos are not mentally Ill, when in fact they are. The homo even goes a step further and tries to convince everyone, everywhere, that it is more intelligent than others.
Delusional thought process, a byproduct (no pun) of the mental illness left untreated of the free roaming homo.

Don't wish for less intelligence but I do wish I didn't know as much about how the world 'really' works.
Ever since I worked with a guy who was a true genius (he designed the control systems for the Apollo space program) and he saw something in me and started giving me books to read which opened my eyes.
At first I found it all hard to believe but he was patient and events have proven him correct over the years.

Nothing has been the same since then and there are days I wish for the bliss of ignorance.

Sometimes yes then I could be like the rest of the SHEEPLE and live in pure bliss until they come to rob me of anything I have left and kill me, but then I wake up and realize that being able to destroy some of them when they come is a much better payoff

My IQ is 138, and EVERY job I've ever had has bored me to death, because it is structured to not allow me personal decision-making, I have to "follow procedures", and it doesn't stimulate or challenge me in any way.

I feel like a SLAVE, and I'm fed up with it.

I have to make money, but I am SO miserable at not having total autonomy in my life.
