It is, to me, sad how fast people forget the FOUNDATIONS of our fine country! This country was built by an armed population capable of fending for themselves, and will be lost by couches full of potato-sheeple riding their 52" HD-LEDTV's into the orwellian sunset. :( :abomb::abomb::abomb: BRING ON THE DOOM!!! |

I use to own a Compaq, (first computer) and it's phone support staff were located in India. after 10 mins or so I told the Indian to put somebody on the line that spoke redneck he advised me that he spoke better english than I did. I agreed with him. But that I was the one paying for the puter and I spoke redneck he wanted to know what is this redneck? and I said never mind and hung up. I never bought another Compaq after that. |

But I am specifically curious how we in the states ended up speaking so differently than the english and brits. |

Billy_Sastard User ID: 42819279 United States 08/13/2013 04:05 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Thats great and all, but does anyone know why and how we came to speak differently? Quoting: rexxturbo It is a bit curious, for sure. And it is not just British English that is different, I, personally have a real hard time understanding heavy southern accents as well as north eastern ones. The accents within our own birders are as varies as anything else! It is, to me, sad how fast people forget the FOUNDATIONS of our fine country! Or you could check out Brad Pitt's periwinkle blue caravan for his mum: (Be sure to hit "CC" and get the subtitles!) |
Billy_Sastard User ID: 42819279 United States 08/13/2013 04:12 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Sounds like the way we speak in most of the US could be closer to what English sounded like 300 years ago than the way the British speak today! I can't understand strong Scottish accents, and I'm from Liverpool, so the accent here is Scouse. I cannot, and I mean CANNOT, understand a strong Scouse accent. It's the worst accent ever, it's just stupid. I hear someone on TV or in a film from Liverpool and it makes me want to cry. |

Quoting: Shoot straight Johnny These are especially important with Scottish people, or Southerners. That reminds me of an East Anglian accent. Have you got a loight bouy? [link to www.youtube.com] |
