Alzheimer's is a disease that is preventable, dear Americans! One does not HAVE TO suffer! Mentality can be changed WITHIN one's lifetime!
"Alzheimer’s disease is among the most devastating diseases anyone can face. Alzheimer’s patients lose their memories, independence, relationships and ultimately their lives".

"It is estimated that as many as 5.1 million Americans may have Alzheimer's disease."

"Every 67 seconds, someone in America develops Alzheimer's. By mid-century, someone in America will develop the disease every 33 seconds."

Jim Webb: "It's a huge, huge problem in terms of the number of people who are involved and the amount of money that is being spent on 'treatment'."

Americans! Beware of the neuropyrosis progression of Alzheimer's disease*... a "rugby champion" mentality, so to speak, leaves many Americans prone to AD; to avoid AD, please chill out, tune down the dopaminic aspect of your personality

* My theory about how AD is caused by increased brain signal density, as occurs in the brains of people who have high "RQ" (it is a simple theory, yet explains AD causation much better than current medical theories):
[link to www.authorstream.com]

The increased signal density (which is due to more dopamine activity) in case of Alzheimer's disease, is discussed by Alice Walton of Forbes: "The famous culprit in Alzheimer’s disease, amyloid-beta plaques, is found to accumulate following increased [quantitative] brain cell activity. Specifically, there’s evidence that people who have more activity in their default mode networks may have increased risk for Alzheimer’s disease. As researcher David Holtzman of Washington University told me last year, “people whose default mode networks have an average increase in activity relative to others may be at increased risk to get Alzheimer’s disease later in life and the converse may also be true (less activity in this network, less risk).”

The increased signal density in case of Alzheimer's is further confirmed in how the lateral ventricles, which carry ventricular fluid to support neural activity, are enlarged in AD…. which again shows excess signalling activity. More proofs in the ppt linked above.

Quantitative existence of signals in the brain is a very devastating thing for brain tissue. Each time a signal passes through a neuron, some loss occurs on the way. This loss is converted to heat (the electrical equivalent of friction).

Primacy of dopamine (i.e. left brain dominance) implies greater local signal densities and thus overheating. Overheating causes neuronal collapse and neuroinflammation repair reaction in key areas (hippocampus, which handles conceptualization, EC, PFC).

If higher signal density is indeed bad, what is causing the
higher signal density??
Why higher signal density???

The answer is increased dendrites/dopamine's doctrinal power in the neurostructural ideology.

The increased activity of Dopamine, and lesser activity of Norepi, in the brains of Alzheimer's disease patients, is confirmed by Heneka et al., who say “AD individuals show ~ 70% loss of locus coeruleus (LC) cells” (generators of Norepi i.e. Dopamine's rival chemical)... e.g.: “Degeneration of the locus coeruleus might be responsible for ... AD.”

AD is a disease that is preventable, dear Americans (America and Finland have the highest rates of AD)!
One does not HAVE TO suffer it, even if in a genetically prone family/population!

Mentality can be changed within one's lifetime!
Leading to the increase of happiness and end of depression and Alzheimer's!

Chronic diseases have two elements.

Too much damage.

Not enough repair.

Modern medicine focuses on causations of too much damage. Alternative medicine focuses on not enough repair. What we need to do is do both. The problem is pharmaceutical companies make more money by focusing on causation. Simple as that.

This is an interesting theory on what is causing the damage. But I suspect its the lack of repair is just as important.

Hi,
The repair reaction (glial neuroinflammation) is in fact over-worked in Alzheimer's disease, researchers find. Of course it can never be enough since the damage is far too much (you are right about that being so in such chronic diseases).

I cannot so easily agree with your view on western Medicine attacking the causation part, however, at least in the case of AD -- because all AD "medicines" have failed clinical trials**. I'm from India, and know a thing or two about Ayurvedic alternative medicines as well -- they can't cure Alzheimer's disease.

Nothing but mental right-wiring/rewiring (via practice and ecology-modification*) can cure AD (though of course, some herbs, such as cannabis***, might help reduce dependence on Dopamine and increase reliance on Norepi, leading to reduction of the main culprit, i.e. RQ -- that's a type of alternative medicine).

** "A new analysis presented in this report finds that since 1998, there have been 101 unsuccessful attempts to develop drugs to treat Alzheimer’s – or as some call them “failures.” In that time three new medicines have been approved to treat the symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease; for every research project that succeeded, 34 failed to yield a new medicine.

I hear voices and suffer delusions much like a schizophrenic except mine is the result from prolonged depression. And from all my experiences and studying of the illness I'm fairly certain a lot of these illness are closely related much like auto-immune illnesses of the body and how they can manifest multiple symptoms.

All that being said the thing that has the most profound experience or helps the most with my illness, is simply using my mind. I found it's much like the body in that manor as well, if you don't exercise it enough it starts to break down and even simple things can become challenging. How closely it's all related I have no clue, lol it could just be fatigue that seems to tie it all together but if you ever feel your mind or consciousness slipping, I would tell you to start learning some stuff.

I suggest you try medical marijuana and see if it helps with your symptoms?

It's a somehow-common misconception that disuse is the only route to unhealthiness of the brain. Abuse is the other, far more formidable route to unhealthiness of the brain.

There are 2 routes:
1) Disuse: in this case, simple brain exercises will help expand brain usage
2) Abuse: I don't mean drug abuse; i mean the "neuropyrosis" route to AD, which occurs when one thinks quantitative, largely reactive thoughts of the RQ* type, thus overusing the quantitative dopaminergic systems and underusing the qualitative Norepic systems, which can be called abusing his brain; in this case, exercise must be of the right type. The wrong type of exercise is merely further abuse.

Abstract
Amyloid-β (Aβ) peptide has been implicated in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer’s disease (AD). We present a nonpharmacological approach for removing Aβ and restoring memory function in a mouse model of AD in which Aβ is deposited in the brain. We used repeated scanning ultrasound (SUS) treatments of the mouse brain to remove Aβ, without the need for any additional therapeutic agent such as anti-Aβ antibody. Spinning disk confocal microscopy and high-resolution three-dimensional reconstruction revealed extensive internalization of Aβ into the lysosomes of activated microglia in mouse brains subjected to SUS, with no concomitant increase observed in the number of microglia. Plaque burden was reduced in SUS-treated AD mice compared to sham-treated animals, and cleared plaques were observed in 75% of SUS-treated mice. Treated AD mice also displayed improved performance on three memory tasks: the Y-maze, the novel object recognition test, and the active place avoidance task. Our findings suggest that repeated SUS is useful for removing Aβ in the mouse brain without causing overt damage, and should be explored further as a noninvasive method with therapeutic potential in AD.

OK, provide an example of the thoughts, obsessions, patterns, etc that support the mumbo-jumbo terminology so that the average idiot can understand. My mother is in advanced alzheimers and I would really love to know.

Sounds good. Can this method can lastingly restore memory, or "mostly" restore memory?

Though, to me, the "amyloid plaques" seem to be the by-products of the damage process, rather than the cause "of memory loss and loss of cognitive function".
I hope I'm wrong, but i fear i may be right...

"The word 'breakthrough' is often misused, but in this case I think this really does fundamentally change our understanding of how to treat this disease, and I foresee a great future for this approach."

I hope he's right, hope it has a future but i don't know. Why don't you try it on patients and find out if this really works? My main doubt -- How could one be sure that the mice had Alzheimer's disease, which subsequently got cured? Because the process that causes Alzheimer's diseas is a singular experience unique to humans, i think*... i hope something comes out of your research, i hope you get some more funding because of this apparent breakthrough.

* And this supports: [link to csmres.co.uk]

I'd be glad if some of you can put the effort of understanding RQ, how it causes AD*, and how a pro-entropy civilizational structure like the one described below can reduce RQ and thus prevent AD:
