They would visit when I was a kid and then later after I had my third child...they are good, we, humans, are due for the next upgrade...After the cataclysms they will introduce their hybrids to Earth.
There are some bad ones out there, but these guys are good, there are also tall ones that look about the same and they are also good...

The ability to eat- from us, because they regret engineering themselves to not require food, but instead soak in nutrient baths...which did benefit them in traveling across the universe as they can make their baths from substances found anywhere...
