Depends on the "they" to whom you refer. There's no proof that ALL of them, forever, are deceptive enslavers, no reason to believe anything outright one way or the other, even though the political world (obviously including religions) has been the delusional Hell it has been since before recorded history. Optimism and being open-minded can never be harmful unless PROVEN otherwise.
