In one of Richard Dolan's books, he mentions having contact with a former member of security for (I believe) ATIC. The man said that he was guarding files in a downstairs part of his facility. Apparently, he saw a "being" rummaging through one of the file containers and when he noticed it simply "dematerialized." The man was so startled that he ran to his commanding officer and essentially had a breakdown.
