Re: I want to share an experience I had with " medical professionals"
if grandmama has high blood pressure you should take her to your family doctor to get her blood pressure medication.

My BP gets over 200 nesrly everyday. No big deal. Just pop an extra, or half/extra pill, but still stay on schedule.

The bad one is when the pulse goes off the screen, and the worse one is when both the pulse goes off the screen (below 40) and the systolic is also trying to go off the screen. That hapens rarely. Often itis what your take or eat that caused the extremes.

The only one i worry about is the diastolic.

Regular, gentle exercise is important.

Why we are on the subject of Dementia ? Folks , drink water not Soda stay active and for God sakes don't watch TV! It turns your brain into absolute mush!
 Quoting: GT500

Tell ya when I quit drinking Soda. I took a whip cream canister, filled it with water & charged it with the N2O "nitrous" and drank it. It messed me up, not like inhaling pure Nitrous does, I just felt sick and dizzy for 30 min, I realized at that point what drinking CO2 does to you without you knowing it.
 Quoting: Chrit

Soda is flat out garbage! I firmly believe " aspartame " in diet soda is linked to dementia , my Grandmother drank it non-stop ? I took it away and there was dramatic improvement !
 Quoting: GT500

you can get her mineral, bubbly water and put just a little fruit juice in it for her (maybe also a little wild honey)

Re: I want to share an experience I had with " medical professionals"
My Grandmother is 90 years old suffering from severe Dementia, about a month ago we had to make a run to the hospital because her blood pressure shot up 200/100........

She was treated and sent home, her Primary care Physician assigned a Mobil nurse team to come to the house and monitor once a week .....

A couple of weeks into it she said I am recommending a " Social Worker " come by the house and speak with us? I said no thanks we're good and thank you very much......

A week later a short direct letter comes in the mail and says we are " terminating their contract with us? There is allot more to this story but I'm giving you cliff notes.....

Point: The other day I pinned a thread about " Tardcare Agents" coming to your house and making sure everything is " okie dokie" I will try and find thread. This situation ties into that category because it was see a " Socail Worker" or we are not coming back!
 Quoting: GT500

on the other hand, maybe they are required to do this to insure accountability...that your grandma is not being taken advantage of...just saying...you might have asked what would the SW do when she comes....you should have asked before jumping to conclusions

It's part of the steaming pile of whale fecal matter, a dry(wet?)run(s?) of Ohbunghole Care. A pinned thread from yesterday talked about this.

If you are so free minded, why did you allow grandma to rely on the pharmaceutically, financed focused medical community? Why would your free mindedness accept their care to begin with?

Re: I want to share an experience I had with " medical professionals"
im in my 13th year caring for my mom, the state came a few weeks ago to check on her. the same state that would not let her finish 6 more months of work to get her 80 percent retiremeny, so she gets 20 percent because she got alzheimers. we stopped the horrible medications and doctors visits 5 years ago, she has been very happy and rests well since. the workers seemed polite evan though i can be a real asshole, i dont trust them, probably trying to get money out of her or something, im not sure still. anyway no harm done she is happy and resting. my experience is wholesome foods grown locally help, i notice an increase in energy and happiness this time of year because of the garden. drs lie, the drugs make the people psychotic and are nothing but a spinoff of some antidepressant relabeled for alheimers , then when those dont work which they dont they will just prescribe more and more and more til the person is basically comatose. lots of fresh fruits, veggies, oils, honey and lots of love and patience is how to treat alzheimers. gonna go read the other thread now, good luck god bless you and youre grandma

Driveby idiocy. Sounds like poster knows something here.

My mother died of Alzheimer's. I might not have been able to get her away from the medical system, but it would have been interesting to try. If I knew then what I see here and how things went the "medical" way I would have tried something different.
