What's in a name?

The association of the name Lucifer to Satan started with a Latin translation of Isaiah 14:12 which was translated in the KJV as "How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning!"

The Hebrew word is helel. The word lucifer is just a translation, not a name.

But it's not speaking to Satan, either.

3 It shall come to pass in the day the Lord gives you rest from your sorrow, and from your fear and the hard bondage in which you were made to serve, 4 that you will take up this proverb against the king of Babylon, and say:

But it's a taunt. He didn't really ascend to heaven, but he exalted himself with his mouth as such.
