OP
"Paul said God's law was a Curse. Jesus said it was a blessing. Who's lying?"

In speaking of the Old Covenant Law, Jesus called it "the law", "the law of Moses" or "YOUR law". He never called it, “My Law” or “My Father's Law".

OP, if you knew and understood the answer you never would have created this thread.

No one ever got anywhere good by following a person.

This is what the 20th century proved: Hitler, Stalin, Mussolini, Mao, etc. etc. etc.

People are supposed to: 1) follow the Moral Law--that is crucial; and, 2) follow the Truth--whoever it is that says the Truth.

There are Truths in Buddhism, Judaism, Christianity and Islam.

Sticking to the Truth, you can't go wrong.

Following a fallible person will get you into trouble.

It is idolatry.

But most people don't want to follow the Truth.

It is not entertaining enough.

So they slip into idolatry--of a political or a religious 'authority'--which is much easier.

After all, it specifically states in the Quran that people will be arguing about "the resurrection" until the Day of Resurrection itself.

What are the arguments about?

Whether "the resurrection" is: 1) the Egyptian 'god of the dead' doctrine of the physical raising of a dead body from the grave; or, 2) whether "the resurrection" includes the Revelation of the Memory of Creation and the revelation of the memories of previous lives.

Michael (as Prophesied)
 Quoting: 4Q529

No wonder they'll be "arguing" ,if they're going by the Koran:
Soul, Resurrection, Paradise, and Hellfire
27 Islam teaches that man has a soul that goes on to a hereafter. The Quran states: “Allah receiveth (men’s) souls at the time of their death, and that (soul) which dieth not (yet) in its sleep. He keepeth that (soul) for which He hath ordained death.” (Surah 39:42, MMP) At the same time, surah 75 is entirely devoted to “Qiymat, or the Resurrection” (AYA), or “The Rising of the Dead” (MMP). In part it says: “I do call to witness the Resurrection Day . . . Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? . . . He questions: ‘When is the Day of Resurrection?’ . . . Has not He [Allah] the power to give life to the dead?”—Surah 75:1, 3, 6, 40, AYA.

28 According to the Quran, the soul can have different destinies, which can be either a heavenly garden of paradise or the punishment of a burning hell. As the Quran states: “They ask: When is the Day of Judgement? (It is) the day when they will be tormented at the Fire, (and it will be said unto them): Taste your torment (which ye inflicted).” (Surah 51:12-14, MMP) “For them [the sinners] is torment in the life of the world, and verily the doom of the Hereafter is more painful, and they have no defender from Allah.” (Surah 13:34, MMP) The question is asked: “And what will explain to thee what this is? (It is) a Fire blazing fiercely!” (Surah 101:10, 11, AYA) This dire fate is described in detail: “Lo! Those who disbelieve Our revelations, We shall expose them to the Fire. As often as their skins are consumed We shall exchange them for fresh skins that they may taste the torment. Lo! Allah is ever Mighty, Wise.” (Surah 4:56, MMP) A further description states: “Lo! hell lurketh in ambush . . . They will abide therein for ages. Therein taste they neither coolness nor (any) drink save boiling water and a paralysing cold.”—Surah 78:21, 23-25, MMP.

29 Muslims believe that a dead person’s soul goes to the Barzakh, or “Partition,” “the place or state in which people will be after death and before Judgment.” (Surah 23:99, 100, AYA, footnote) The soul is conscious there experiencing what is termed the “Chastisement of the Tomb” if the person had been wicked, or enjoying happiness if he had been faithful. But the faithful ones must also experience some torment because of their few sins while alive. On the judgment day, each faces his eternal destiny, which ends that intermediate state.

30 In contrast, the righteous are promised heavenly gardens of paradise: “And as for those who believe and do good works, We shall make them enter Gardens underneath which rivers flow to dwell therein for ever.” (Surah 4:57, MMP) “On that day the dwellers of Paradise shall think of nothing but their bliss. Together with their wives, they shall recline in shady groves upon soft couches.” (Surah 36:55, 56, NJD) “Before this We wrote in the Psalms, after the Message (given to Moses): ‘My servants, the righteous, shall inherit the earth.’” The footnote to this surah refers the reader to Psalm 25:13 and 37:11, 29, as well as to the words of Jesus at Matthew 5:5 “Happy are the mild-tempered+ ones, since they will inherit the earth.+ (Surah 21:105, AYA)

Ever hear of "progressive Revelations"?

The Revelations in the Quran were written after Chapter 28 of Deuteronomy, which specifically excludes any metaphysical 'heaven' and 'hell'.

Such references in the Quran must necessarily be considered allegorical; the reasons for and the implications of which would take several thousands of words to explain.

From a NITWIT "beast of the sea" consciousness of the "self" and a NITWIT "beast of the earth" consciousness of the 'thinker'???

You're DAMN right.

Because this Knowledge originates in Revelation.

The parallels to this statement of Jesus originate in the Thanksgiving Hymns of the Dead Sea Scrolls, in which he wrote, in explanation of his two fundamental disagreements with the Jewish priesthood in Jerusalem:

"Of the Vision of Knowledge, they say, 'It is unsure'

And, of the Way of Thy heart, 'It is not the Way.'"

And what is the original use of this word "way"?

Genesis Chapter 3, verse 24: "...with the cherubs and the flame of a flashing sword to guard the way to the Tree of Life (the Vision of the "Son of man)." And Chapter 55, verse 9 of the Book of Isaiah: "As high as the heavens are above the earth are My ways above your ways."

Of course, up until now, this civilization has never heard such things; all of this has been "secret and sealed".

You would fair better to remain silent than to launch repeated attacks stemming from ignorance.

Nothing personal. You have faith in Jesus. That's good.

Get Paul behind you if you truly want to understand Jesus' teachings. There is no call to hate or fear Paul from me.

Just realize that Paul is a man, enemy or not, and doesn't speak for God.

I apologize if some of you have seen this before because I have posted it before:

" The Roman Catholic Church claims responsibility for the decision as to which books should be included in the Bible canon, and reference is made to the Council of Carthage (397 C.E.), where a catalog of books was formulated. The opposite is true, however, because the canon, including the list of books making up the Christian Greek Scriptures, was already settled by then, that is, not by the decree of any council, but by the direction of God’s holy spirit—the same spirit that inspired the writing of those books in the first place. The testimony of later noninspired catalogers is valuable only as an acknowledgment of the Bible canon, which God’s spirit had authorized.
 Quoting: chauchat

Exactly right.

Post it as often as you like and as often as it applies because it will probably reach somebody new for the first time, whether today or years from now.

Exactly right. Just like two centuries after throwing Christians to the lions, in a new power play, the collapsed Caesar power structure of Rome co-opts the faith as their own, so that makes Christianity of Rome?!
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 45595821

I agree as well. God wanted us to have this Book we call the Bible as is. In spite of all its various versions and translations it is still fundamentally the same basic work delivering crucial lessons all human beings need to understand.

The Bible lesson this particular thread deals with is what happens when when we take the written accounts of a man, in this instance Paul, and treat them as if they are literal instructions/teachings/commands from God. Most all of us have been schooled well enough by now to know the Church's history hasn't been, how shall we say, pretty for the last 2000 years (understatement of all time?), a mirror image of many of the horrors outlined and described in Revelations, the results of following the false prophet.

>> "The Bible lesson this particular thread deals with is what happens when when we take the written accounts of a man, in this instance Paul, and treat them as if they are literal instructions/teachings/commands from God."

People always disagree about things. Always. No matter what. That is a commentary on people, not on the Thing the people are commenting about.

So what we have to try to do in those situations is rely as little as possible on the opinions and interpretations of man or groups of men and get back to The Text itself and it's plain and simple meanings and within context.

If Paul is inspired by God and his words were intended by Almighty Providence as Scripture... and Paul's instructions/teachings/commands from God say look only to Jesus Christ... as they do.. then what is the problem? Paul says "Not me. Christ." So they say Paul is, strangely, "Satanic deception."

I provided a long list of quotes from Paul walking throughout his New Testament letters earlier in this thread beginning here:

[link to www.godlikeproductions.com]

I specifically asked for any of the Anti-Pauls to explain how any of these words of Paul proclaiming Christ are "Satanic deception." Not one single Anti-Paul could or would answer and defend their accusations. Not one Anti-Paul. Not one Paul quote.

They have a problem with Paul. Paul preaches only Jesus Christ. They have a problem with Christ. They never preach Christ. They oppose the one who started preaching Christ.

Again, consistently, those who hate Paul do not love Christ.

>>"Most all of us have been schooled well enough by now to know the Church's history hasn't been, how shall we say, pretty for the last 2000 years (understatement of all time?)"

Yeah. But what most mean when they say that is actually complaints about The Roman Catholic Church, not "the church" being "the ekklesia," "the called-out ones," those called out of this world into faith in Jesus Christ, not into faith in the Pope. The "not pretty" is not about believers in Jesus Christ, but the Catholic Church, Rome. Fascinating how very often it is that antagonistic non-believers criticize "Christianity", rightfully so, because of things done by the Catholic Church and not by Christianity or Jesus Christ.

>>"a mirror image of many of the horrors outlined and described in Revelations, the results of following the false prophet."

Revelation. One. Singular. Not plural. Not Revelations. The Revelation.

I Corinthians 15:35-53 is a flagrant contradiction of the Teaching of Jesus on "the resurrection".

So is 2 Timothy 2:16-18 (contradicted also by Chapter 27, verses 52-53 of the Gospel of Matthew).

IF you understood the reply of Jesus to the Sadducees; something which, more than likely, you do not even care about, although it was the reply that got Jesus murdered.

There is something happening that you may not be aware of.

The naval forces of the "king of the South" (the United States and its allies) are gathering in the Eastern Mediterranean, where there are also naval forces of the "king of the North" (Russia and its allies), to which more may be added in the near future.

Other military assets of both the "king of the South" and the "king of the North" have been placed upon war alert; with Russia reported to have sent additional advanced missiles to its ally Syria.

I could go on.

All of this conforms with the fractal Prophecy of Chapter 11, verses 40-45 of the Book of Daniel...

Which leads directly to the Prophecy of Chapter 12, verse 1 of the Book of Daniel.

Now you were saying something about 'accusing' someone or other???

Well, I guess you have all the answers. Now we all can burn the scriptures because of your deception that was handed to you by your own self-deceiving pride and some assistance by the one and only deceiver. Congratulations.

You, Michael 4Q529, need Jesus Christ.

How ultimately and supremely futile is warring against him to glorify yourself?

Serve him. Love him. Thank him. What can possibly be better?

...After all, it specifically states in the Quran that people will be arguing about "the resurrection" until the Day of Resurrection itself.

The Quran shares the same fate as the Bible with words of men, Hadith, being given the authority as God. As does the Torah affixed with the Talmud. The names of the players are changed but the game remains the same.
 Quoting: Raymantheheretic

So how can people determine what is "Hadith" and what is "GOD".
In the next sentence when you say -"Torah affixed with the Talmud"- Are you saying that the Torah is "GOD" [with which I can agree], and Talmud is "Hadith"? [Actually, no quarrel there either, based on things I've seen quoted from the Talmud.]

My answer, non- paraphrased by Raymantheheretic:

[How is my answer not relevant to what was stated above by 4Q529??????:]

:No wonder they'll be "arguing" ,if they're going by the Koran:

Re: The biggest blunder in the church for years!! The Paul Deception!
Good post. Overall precise and to the point without dodging the key issues being discussed.

Since I'm being quoted in blue I'll use dark blue in bold minus >> and hopefully my replies will be clearly distinguished between quotes.

Think about it

>> "The Bible lesson this particular thread deals with is what happens when when we take the written accounts of a man, in this instance Paul, and treat them as if they are literal instructions/teachings/commands from God."

People always disagree about things. Always. No matter what. That is a commentary on people, not on the Thing the people are commenting about.

You are partly right. It is about people but it's also very much about the "Thing" we call the Christian Bible.

So what we have to try to do in those situations is rely as little as possible on the opinions and interpretations of man or groups of men and get back to The Text itself and it's plain and simple meanings and within context.

I'm with you if by "within context" you mean the entire Bible and not just within the context of what a single character has written down in one of his letters (in contrast to the four books titled Gospel)

Also, with the evidence of Peter describing Paul's writings as "hard to understand and easily twisted" 'plain and simple meanings' is not a suitable crutch for propping up your position here.

At this juncture is where we stop seeing eye to eye. Read objectively there is no clear indication elsewhere in the Bible we are obligated to trust Paul to tell us the truth and nothing but the truth. Yes, according to the words spoken to Ananias Jesus chose Paul as a vessel to spread His name but there is no mention of His Truth (Gospel).

It wouldn't be a huge issue if "look only to Jesus Christ" truly was the whole of Paul's gospel. But it's not by a long shot.

Are you sure about that? "Eating meat sacrificed to idols is harmless" "All things are lawful unto me" "The Law is a curse" Those were just from me.

They have a problem with Paul. Paul preaches only Jesus Christ. They have a problem with Christ. They never preach Christ. They oppose the one who started preaching Christ.

Again, consistently, those who hate Paul do not love Christ.

chauchat taught me to play tit for tat:

Most people that trust Paul to speak for God are eager to judge strangers, bind them together as one, and tell lies about them.[/tit tat]

[:fixed, happy now?]

No, the RCC was just leader of the pack for 1260 years. We all have faults

Revelation. One. Singular. Not plural. Not Revelations. The Revelation.

Yeah, ma' bad
