Following up this article..Fukushima worker “Expiration date for use of the contaminated tanks is coming.” [URL]

Tepco held an extraordinary press conference for the leakage on 8/20/2013.

From their announcement, one of the tanks (No.5) lost 1/3 of the stocked water, which is approx. 300 tones.

Most of the leaked water has travelled out of the local dam. The total amount of leaking β nuclide is 24,000,000,000,000 Bq. The total amount of leaking Cesium-134 is 13,800,000,000 Bq. The total amount of leaking Cesium-137 is 30,000,000,000.

The leaking part is not identified yet. The leakage is still continuing.

Tepco is pumping up the leaked water but it’s still 4 tones.

[end snip]

This, and waiting on the Press release translation of the Thyroid cancer in children....

Not an expert here, but this is the sort of thing that degrades the quality of life in insidious and miserable ways rather than cleanly wiping out anything.

It is not a good thing, but there's a ton of radiation and poisonous substances in our water anyway.

So any water in the ocean, contaminated or not, ultimately ends up on land and in our food chains, on our bodies, in our drinking water etc... THAT is why this is such a big thing. That is besides poisoning our seas for an indefinite period of time.. killing off the sea life and the lifestyles of many, many pacific island nations.

There's a huge difference.

Radioparticulate, is as heavy as the mass that it resides in, however;

any radioactive mass gives off spare 'parts', if you will.. these randomly collide with any other 'stuff that is', 'missing stuff' (happens since the universe itself).

these are called 'free-radicals), and displace the natural shape and balance of 'satisfied' atoms, and can cut through DNA/ RNA for example, like a hot knife trough butter, forever changing/ altering or destroying its ability to do its natural job.

This shit is evil.....

PS

(which is why they always promised to keep it INSIDE containment)

well that's now screwed......
