Senate Passes Bill to Ban Certain Tattoos, Body Piercings

Just curious guys: if they take ALL of your freedoms except the right to own firearms, what good are your firearms?

This is not something that is not geared toward "normal" tattoos and piercings. This is geared toward people who tattoo horrific things on their faces, and have implanted hooks in their skin, horns in their heads, whiskers in their cheeks, (i.e the guy who has cheetah spots tattooed all over, including his face, and had whiskers implanted)..

Yes, it is borderline encroaching, but people who do this are mentally unstable, and yes, it sets a bad example for children and society.

Oh, and before I am labeled some anti-everything/pro gov. person, I'm not! I have piercings and tattoos.

That's what I was wondering - how on earth are they suppose to enforce this? How are you suppose to prove you got your body work done before the stupid law?

and since boob jobs are body modifications, will they be regulated as well?

which makes me think, how about plastic surgery? there are butt and boob and cheek implants? how about those? Not arguing with you at all, just your comment totally made me think of this now.

are they going to make those kinds of implants illegal? doubt it, considering so much manipulation is done by the media using this sort of stuff. sex sells, so I'm sure those types of "enhancing implants won't be illegal at all.

well i saw on joe rogan (yes i watch that for fun only) some people that implant stuff into themself to better them selfs as they would call it. even tho they only had magnets installed to feel electromagnetism from machines.

maybe they dont want that to happen? so that when a company makes something for us all to buy the government has to regulate and tax it first? i dont know. cant be because of rfid as there are many legal implants already that also have metals. i guess

This is what you finally get when you have 'career lawmakers'. They gotta make new laws to justify having jobs, no matter how ridiculous. Goes along with that previous poster's quote about making enough laws so eventually, we are all criminals.

Scary people at Walmart are traumatizing, I agree. However, seeing people with the over the top horns, complete facial tats, and extreme things of that nature is what I was referring too.

Please, I mean no disrespect, but the whole "I'm not hurting anyone else," excuse is ridiculous, and overplayed. If they are mutilating their body, it needs to stop.

If I were to chop off my hand, because I thought it was cool, then I would be committed, but if I mutilate my face, and have horns implanted, and have hooks sewn in my back to hang from, its no problem?? That's like lobbying for suicide.

Though I may agree with the 'crazy' aspect, I totally disagree when it comes to government involvement and legislation.

Let's ban body modification, but allow toxic foods, cigarette poison, and GMOs, and plastic surgery.

It doesn't matter what they're doing to their bodies, you want to start down the, you can't look like this, you can't wear this, the color red is illegal game? Not that it matters, but putting it into law is suppose to make it acceptable. This is nonsense.

I don't like the government involvement either, and we certainly don't need anymore legislation. I am left wondering though, who will stop all this? People have just lost all their marbles, so if there isn't a law/regulation to stop crap like that, how do we contain the madness?

That is a state law for Arkansas. I would be pissed if I lived there but each state has the right to determine their own laws (even if it is very infringing). I live in North Carolina where we passed some laws that are under the national spotlight as well.

The right thing is to teach people to think independently, provide facts and sources, and leave them alone to make their own decisions.

Protecting people from themselves is unethical and dehumanizing.

It will end when people start to give a damn about the freedom of their fellow man as much as their own. Cause when your fellow man loses his freedom, you aren't far behind.

Does this mean - if passed, that new state residents or tourists with "illegal tats" would be in violation? Where does it end, and what's the purpose anyway?
