Yeah, no worries man, people prefer different kinds of genres so I completely understand. But I'm not too familiar with Tangerine Dream, so I looked em up on youtube -- and if it was the right Tangerine Dream -- I can see what you mean by my electronic intro! Lol

I recently upgraded to a D-35 and I'm not sure when I'll have the electrics out of their cases, not anytime soon I suspect.

D-35? Holy hell man that must've been crazy expensive. Lol. But still, I appreciate your feedback, good luck with you and your guitars!

The difference between the Martin & my Chinese made Guild is night and day, and the Guild (GAD50) was a decent step up from a Japanese Yamaha. The D-35 just sings and rings and is incredible.


I've got a couple of Strats, an 'Oak Leaf' Guild and an ES-335 made by a luthier. Can't seem to part with any of them, they're like different species...)))

A bit ironic that with all the great players out there these days and over the years that the riff as simple as the one in 'Satisfaction' really hasn't been topped? I was influenced probably more by Jimmy Page than Hendrix, and went Gibsonesque before the Strats & getting into Jimi Hendrix. Had a '78 Les Paul Custom and played Voodo Chile-Slight Return from San Diego in '69 on for a buddy of mine a decade ago, kinda blew both our minds at time. Friend died a while ago and sold the LP for what I paid for it, but still kick myself in the butt for having done that.

Everyone has their opinion, but I'm going to have to disagree. I felt every single note. Technicality in play-style doesn't necessarily mean absence of emotion, but rather more complexity in spirit. I imagined an enormous empire, one who is feared by all -- came crumbling down and collapsed into itself. I want people to hear what I hear, listen again and maybe you can see what I felt. But I appreciate your honesty.

Oh I have no doubt that YOU think it has feeling but to me it honestly sounded like the soundtrack to a low budget east european snowboard video from the early 90s.

it's nice that you have a hobby that you enjoy and that so many other people are supportive of you. can't please em all.

It's alright, people hear things differently because there are an infinite diverse perspectives in the world and I welcome true honesty. But it's a wonderful hobby that I've turned into my career over the past few years, and writing instrumentals on my own have been a new experience I've been enjoying recently. musicians who are technically sound in their skill, cannot produce well.

because they are too attached to perfection they tend to use too much reverb and/or effects to "blend" the final product better.

I think that your skills would yield a better sound if you had someone else produce it.

Interesting.. That's something I've never heard before but it actually makes a lot of sense -- I am a perfectionist, but I guess if you think about it, most -good- lead guitarists are as well. Thank you for that AC, I might next time try recording with a friend that's an amateur producer to see if the result could be better, because I definitely made a lot of errors in the final product that most people wouldn't hear, but I definitely do. But anyway, thanks for letting me know.

Yeah, what I tried to go for was to give the song a different dynamic, up until that point it was straight up fast leads, and I didn't want the song to be COMPLETELY repetitive so I thought maybe a nice break would suffice, and I wanted to show a little piano in a guitar-driven song as well so I thought it might fit under a small guitar bit that slowly progressed upwards to the solo. Haha. But thanks, I appreciate it!

you are right to have the piano...it is needed as well as the bit you added at the end..,the more dynamics the better.

it might be the transition in the software.

Hmm.. Nah it was probably my doing. Lol. I kind of wanted the guitar to be a bit more quieter and more reverbed to highlight the piano under it but I was convinced not to and to turn it up because my friend thought it added more depth. Lol. But thanks for letting me know, I might play around with that part and see if I can get a better transition.
