Been screaming for 2 years that everyone should give one of the MANY distrobutions of Linux!
There are plenty of flavors to appeal to almost everyone. For those a little scared of it...I reccommend Linux Mint KDE.
Feels a lot like windows, is extremely elegant and incredibly stable..
And for those that say...I need to run software that only runs on windows...I have yet been unable to get a program to run under Linux.
Please PLEASE people! Shed your misconceptions! Try Linux!

It always locks up. Yes if you have a new laptop....you need disable UEFI in the bios. That was microscrews attempt to create a locked boot loader to prevent people from installing linux.
