those black marks at the bottoms of the remaining trees. Are they a natural part of trees like that, or are they indicating a tidal range there?

If you notice, when the land and trees fall in the sinkhole water displacement almost brings the water levels to the top of the black markings on the remaining trees. yeah, noticed that, but then it returned to the same level, with those black marks the same size as before the slip probably a mini tsunami made the water raise for a bit.
