THis is also why the idea to store nuclear waste in barrels under a mountain in America was abolished.
They previously thought they could build metal barrels that could withstand the waste for many years.. it turns out steel is no match at all for nuclear waste, over extended periods of time.
What they need is Gold plated stainless steel, inside a lead casing with 2 inch thick bullet proof glass on the final layer.
