Oh no they did do this all over the pacific. The Farallon Islands were used to dump drums of nuclear waste decades ago, all over the SF Bay is leaking waste in Hunters point,land on the south side of the city, now a Superfund site, the cancer rates are horrendous.

Also the Santa Barbara channel is covered with underground giant containers of waste from Vandenburg Air Force Base I believe. I was shown a map years ago by a former contractor and was amazed that even in the old days they would dump into the sea so carelessly.

My now deceased uncle worked in the industry for decades he had tales of carelessness which blew my mind, he died a horrible cancer death as did all his brothers and several of my family members who lived in proximity to this waste, and far before their time.

There is no telling where it all is or how much of the cancer worldwide is attributable, but to stay silent and stick our heads in the snad just isn'e going to work anymore. Speak out, the following generations are the ones left ulyimately holding the bag......

Why is it that Fukushima and areas surrounding, always show that radioactivity is within normal limits??? It doesn't make sense. We see all of this stuff in the news about how it is leaking hundreds of tons upon tons of this stuff into the nearby ocean, as well as the stuff is stored in the ground all around but yet their radioactivity is WITHIN NORMAL LIMITS!!! How can that be?

All of the numbers they show you are a lie. After the explosions the EPA web site switched to radiation level page to one hosted by Go Daddy,after the switch all of the numbers dropped to normal. The public no longer has access to the real numbers,that would be bad for business if you knew your food and water were at a dangerous level.

It's not really looking good, is it? I have a stubborn wife who will not move, a 14 month old daughter and 4 cats. If I had the cash in hand right this second, we'd be off. But I guess I'm stuck here for the time being.

Think about it, they can't enter the building because of the high dosis. They have to do this by hand cause the computerized system that was build to do it was destroyed.

They can't even prevent tanks from leaking, they can't even stop contaminated water from entering the passific.

So how are they gonna remove 1300 fuel rods without being able to enter the area, removing them one by one, without letting them drop. All this with the danger of thypoons, earthquakes, leaking tanks and 3 cores in china syndrome mode. I don't think they can do it.

They can and have entered unit 4 reactor building.
That reactor was down for relining.
The core was removed.

But that was before those tanks began to leak. Those tanks contain water that give of 10 rem per hour. The acceptable dose for nuclear workers is 2 rem per year.

Yeah. Like when the "experts" (ahem), seismologists, studied Yucca mountain above the Colorado river and said it wasn't seismically active and safe to bury the waste. The VERY NEXT DAY! there was an earthquake there. Dead center at ground zero.

They should have shields in place to operate the new fuel assembly removal crane system.
Even so, operators will surely suffer high exposures.
That is also a problem..
An operator will have gained experience and technique, only to be replaced after a short time..

I don't have a lot of faith that they will be capable to do what they seem to feel that they are.
They could end up making the situation worse.. as they have in the past.
